Toronto Blue Jays acquire Easton Lucas from Detroit

The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed LHP Easton Lucas off waivers from the Detroit Tigers. Lucas has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.

Additionally, RHP Alek Manoah has been transferred to the 60-day injured list.

Lucas, 27, has appeared in six games between the Tigers and Athletics this season, while spending a majority of the campaign at the Triple-A level, going 3-1 with a 3.31 ERA over 32 Minor League contests. The 6-4, 180 lb. left-handed reliever was selected by the Miami Marlins in the 14th round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of Pepperdine University, eventually making his MLB debut for Oakland in 2023. The Thousand Oaks, CA, native has posted a 9.22 ERA over 12 career MLB games and a 3.95 mark over 140 Minor League appearances (10 starts).
