TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced Monday a pair of roster changes, releasing American running back Khalan Laborn and fullback Brandon Calver, while signing veteran American defensive back Branden Dozier.

Laborn joined the Argos in July after a stint with Saskatchewan during the offseason. He appeared in five games for Toronto, rushing for 58 yards and one touchdown, and adding 36 receiving yards. Prior to that, he played six games for Ottawa in 2024, recording 310 rushing yards, one touchdown, and 23 receptions for 152 yards.

Dozier, a seasoned CFL defender, brings experience and versatility to the Argonauts’ secondary. The 5-foot-11, 201-pound Topeka, Kansas native played four games for Hamilton earlier this season, registering 13 defensive tackles and one special teams tackle before his release.

From 2021 to 2024, Dozier was a key contributor in Calgary, where he totaled 183 defensive tackles, 34 special teams tackles, three sacks, and two interceptions. A product of UNC-Charlotte, he began his CFL career with Montreal in 2017, earning the team’s Most Outstanding Rookie nomination and an East Division All-Star nod in 2018.

Over eight CFL seasons, Dozier has appeared in 108 regular-season games, compiling 416 defensive tackles, 75 special teams tackles, five sacks, eight interceptions, three forced fumbles, and one touchdown.
