TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts have announced a key addition to their backfield.
On Friday, the team confirmed the signing of American running back Kevin Brown. Standing at 5-foot-9 and weighing 205 pounds, Brown played 12 games with Edmonton in 2024, rushing for 522 yards on 101 carries and catching 22 passes for 138 yards.
Brown, an alum of Incarnate Word, had an impressive season in 2023, where he rushed for 1,141 yards and four touchdowns, adding another 222 receiving yards and one touchdown with 28 catches for the Elks. The 28-year-old had also shown his potential in 2022, playing seven games for Edmonton, amassing 486 rushing yards and one touchdown, alongside 176 receiving yards on 25 catches.
Hailing from South Carolina, Brown played 31 games at Incarnate Word between 2019 and 2021. During his college career, he accumulated 2,451 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns, along with 623 receiving yards and four more scores. As a senior, he earned First Team All-Southland Conference honors.
