Poker legend Chris Moneymaker has announced that his new live tournament series, The Moneymaker Tour, will be coming to MGM National Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland, next month.
American players from the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions will have the opportunity to emulate Moneymaker’s 2003 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event victory, which saw him rise from amateur obscurity to defeat the world’s best poker players.
Scheduled for 21-28 April, this event will be the fourth stop on The Moneymaker Tour for 2025 and promises over $400,000 in guaranteed prize money across 12 trophy events, including a $1,500 Main Event with a $300,000 guarantee.
This event marks the second collaboration between The Moneymaker Tour and MGM, following the successful stop at MGM Grand Las Vegas in July 2024, where the Main Event prize pool reached $2,163,830—more than double its $1 million guarantee.
“We’re thrilled to bring The Moneymaker Tour to the Northeast for the first time, starting at MGM National Harbor,” said Tony Burns, Executive Manager. “As we continue to expand our partnership with MGM, this stop represents an exciting milestone, bringing an unforgettable experience to a new audience.”
“We’re excited for The Moneymaker Tour’s debut at MGM National Harbor,” added Alex Alvarado, VP of Casino Operations for the resort. “This tournament promises high-stakes action and unforgettable moments. We can’t wait to welcome players and fans to what’s sure to be a spectacular event.”
Established in 2023 by Chris Moneymaker, the 2003 WSOP Main Event Champion and ACR Poker Pro, and Moneymaker Tour Executive Manager Tony Burns, The Moneymaker Tour was created to provide poker players with their own extraordinary moments, much like Moneymaker’s journey. Since its inception, the tour has expanded across the U.S., with stops in Florida, Cincinnati, Houston, and Ohio, as well as international events in Aruba and the newly announced Playground stop in Canada.
After a milestone year in 2024, featuring 10 U.S. stops and its first international series in Aruba, The Moneymaker Tour continues its rapid growth. Recent highlights include successful events in Florida at Palm Beach Kennel Club and upcoming stops at Dania Beach from 6-9 March and Daytona Beach from 2-14 April, before heading to MGM National Harbor, Maryland. Following that, the tour will debut in Canada with a CAD$1 million series guarantee from 7-20 May before returning to Aruba from 10-28 September, alongside the Caribbean Poker Series.
