The ACMA adds more illegal sites to blocked list

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has instructed Australian internet service providers to block additional illegal online gambling websites after investigations revealed that these services were operating in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

The latest sites to be blocked are:

Blocking websites is just one of several enforcement measures the ACMA uses to protect Australians from illegal online gambling. Since the ACMA issued its first blocking request in November 2019, 1,086 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked.

Additionally, over 220 illegal services have exited the Australian market since the ACMA began enforcing new rules against illegal offshore gambling in 2017.

The ACMA cautions consumers that even if a service appears legitimate, it is unlikely to provide essential consumer protections. Australians using illegal gambling services risk losing their money.
