Collyer has posted a 3.71 ERA in 18 relief appearances for Texas this year
Cleveland, Ohio — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to tonight’s game against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field:
- Right-handed pitcher Gavin Collyer recalled from Triple-A Round Rock
- Right-handed pitcher Chris Paddack designated for assignment
Collyer is beginning his third stint on the Rangers’ active roster (also April 15-May 18, May 24-31), owning a 1-1 record and 3.71 ERA (7 ER/17.0 IP) with 14 walks and 15 strikeouts in 18 relief appearances for Texas in his debut campaign. Since he was optioned to Round Rock on June 1, the 25-year-old right-hander has fashioned a 2.89 ERA (3 ER/9.1 IP) with 11 walks and 13 strikeouts in 10 outings. Collyer is 2-0 with a 2.65 ERA (5 ER/17.0 IP) in 17 overall appearances for the Express in 2026, last appearing on Thursday at Tacoma (1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 SO).
The 30-year-old Paddack was signed by Texas to a Major League contract yesterday and made his Rangers debut in a bulk relief appearance last night at Cleveland, covering 4.0+ innings while allowing 2 runs on 7 hits in a no-decision. The right-hander is 0-7 with a 6.79 ERA in 14 appearances (9 starts) for three clubs in 2026 – Miami, Cincinnati, and Texas. The Rangers have seven days to trade, release, or outright Paddack to the minor leagues.
With today’s transactions, the Rangers have 38 players on the club’s Major League roster, along with five players on the 60-day Injured List (RHP Carter Baumler, LHP’s Cody Bradford, Robert Garcia, and Jordan Montgomery, and INF/OF Michael Helman).
