Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced that the club did not tender 2026 contract offers to outfielder Adolis García, catcher Jonah Heim, right-handed pitcher Josh Sborz, and right-handed pitcher Jacob Webb prior to today’s 4:00 p.m. CT deadline. The four players are now free agents. Additionally, the club has agreed to terms with outfielder Sam Haggerty on a one-year contract covering the 2026 season, avoiding arbitration.

Haggerty, 31, batted .253 (41-162) with 2 home runs, team-high 3 triples, 7 doubles, and 13 RBI over 64 games for Texas in 2025, including 35 starts in leftfield (15), centerfield (10), designated hitter (6), and rightfield (4). The switch-hitting outfielder slashed .318/.376/.435/.812 (27-85) against left-handed pitching last season, posting the 15th-highest such batting average in the A.L. (min. 85 AB).

The Rangers tendered contract offers to each of the other 27 eligible players on the roster. With the addition of Haggerty, the club already has seven players under contract for 2026: RHP Jacob deGrom, RHP Nathan Eovaldi, OF Sam Haggerty, C Kyle Higashioka, DH Joc Pederson, SS Corey Seager, 2B Marcus Semien.
