Michael Helman Recalled from Triple-A; Dane Dunning Optioned
The Texas Rangers today announced a series of roster moves ahead of tonight’s matchup against the Seattle Mariners at Globe Life Field:
- RHP Nathan Eovaldi has been activated from the 15-day Injured List.
- OF Wyatt Langford has been placed on the 10-day Injured List (retroactive to June 25) with a left oblique strain.
- INF/OF Michael Helman (#24) has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
- RHP Dane Dunning has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Eovaldi’s Return to the Rotation
Eovaldi, 35, returns after missing 24 games, having been sidelined since June 1 (retroactive to May 29). During his absence, the Rangers posted a 13-11 record. His last start came on May 27 vs. Toronto, where he exited after two scoreless innings. He did not go on a traditional rehab assignment, instead ramping up with bullpen sessions and live batting practice, including a 3.0-inning simulated outing last Saturday at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. He is slated to start tonight’s series opener against Seattle.
