Arlington, Texas – The Texas Rangers have reinstated shortstop Corey Seager from the 10-day Injured List (right hamstring strain) ahead of Wednesday’s series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays at Globe Life Field. As a corresponding move, infielder Blaine Crim has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.

Seager, 31, missed 16 games due to a hamstring strain, with the Rangers posting an 8-8 record in his absence. This marks his second stint on the injured list this season (April 23-May 2, May 11-27), limiting him to just five appearances in the team’s last 33 games. He resumed live batting practice and infield drills over the past week, including workouts at Rate Field in Chicago and Globe Life Field.

Despite his time on the IL, Seager has been one of the top hitters in the American League, slashing .300/.346/.520/.866 in 26 games. He has tallied six home runs, four doubles, 12 RBI, and seven walks, ranking 10th in the AL in batting average and 13th in slugging percentage (minimum 100 AB). The Rangers are 15-11 in games Seager has played, averaging 3.85 runs per game, compared to 2.83 runs per game in his absence (12-18 record without him). The five-time All-Star and 11-year MLB veteran is in his fourth season with Texas after signing a 10-year free-agent contract on December 1, 2021. Since joining the Rangers (2022-25), he has hit .281 with 102 home runs and 265 RBI.

Crim, 27, was recalled Monday but did not see action for Texas. He made his MLB debut earlier this season, appearing in five games (May 2-11), where he went 0-for-11 with one walk, one run, and six strikeouts. At Triple-A Round Rock, Crim has been productive, hitting .294 (47-for-160) with 10 home runs and 38 RBI in 39 games. The former 19th-round pick from Mississippi College is in his sixth season in the Rangers’ system.

Following these moves, the Rangers’ 40-man roster remains at full capacity, with three players (Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List.
