Tampa Bay Lightning recall Scott Sabourin from Syracuse

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled forward Scott Sabourin from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, Vice President and General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Sabourin, 33, has appeared in four games with Syracuse this season, posting one goal, two points, and seven penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 205‑pound winger brings a wealth of AHL experience, having skated in 536 career games with Syracuse, San Jose, Belleville, Toronto, Stockton, San Diego, Iowa, Ontario, and Manchester. Over that span, he has totaled 89 goals, 183 points, and 1,230 penalty minutes.

A native of Orleans, Ontario, Sabourin has also played 47 career NHL games with Ottawa, Toronto, and San Jose, recording two goals, eight points, and 58 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut with the Senators on October 2, 2019, against Toronto, scoring his first career goal on his first shot while adding four hits and a plus‑1 rating.

Undrafted out of junior hockey, Sabourin was originally signed to a three‑year, entry‑level contract by the Los Angeles Kings on October 7, 2013.
