SEATTLE, WA. – Seattle Reign FC has extended defender Phoebe McClernon’s contract through the 2026 NWSL season, the club announced today.

“I am so excited and grateful to be staying in Seattle for two more years,” said McClernon. “I love this city and am so hopeful for the success of this team with the support of our amazing fans! I feel so honored to represent Reign FC this season and beyond!”

McClernon is in her third season with the Reign, having totaled 15 starts in 20 regular season games played since joining the club in 2022. The versatile defender has made 10 consecutive starts for Seattle across all competitions, helping the team earn six clean sheets in those games. Despite missing the first 12 regular season games in 2023 due to a back injury, McClernon finished the year fifth on the team in total clearances (34), tackles won (20) and interceptions (19).

“Phoebe’s energy and competitiveness are standard-setting in our club. We are happy to have her extend her stay in Seattle,” said Seattle Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “Phoebe is one of the premier defenders in the NWSL; her pace, grit, determination and contributions in the attack are what make her impactful for us and on gameday our fans will appreciate what she brings!”

Since getting drafted by the Orlando Pride as the 14th overall pick in the 2020 Draft, the Pennsylvania native has registered 30 starts in 41 regular season appearances, recording 126 duels won, 93 clearances, 62 interceptions and 56 tackles won.
