RENTON, WASH. – Seattle Reign FC announced today that Head Coach Laura Harvey has signed a multi‑year contract extension, ensuring the winningest coach in NWSL history will remain with the club through the 2028 season. Harvey, the Reign’s inaugural head coach, is currently in her second tenure with the club and is set to begin her 11th season in Seattle and 13th overall in the league.
“Laura sets the competitive standard for our entire program,” said General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “She develops players with purpose and leads with clarity and consistency. Securing her long‑term future allows us to continue building with confidence, knowing one of the most respected coaches in the world is guiding our sporting vision.”
Harvey holds an NWSL‑record 113 regular‑season wins and was the first coach in league history to reach the 100‑win milestone. She is the NWSL’s longest‑tenured head coach and a three‑time Coach of the Year (2014, 2015, 2021), the most of any coach since the league launched in 2013.
Under Harvey’s leadership, the Reign have become one of the NWSL’s most consistent contenders. Seattle has captured three NWSL Shields (2014, 2015, 2022), tied for the most in league history, and reached three NWSL Championship matches (2014, 2015, 2023). The club has qualified for the postseason in six of its eight playoff appearances with Harvey at the helm.

Harvey’s influence extends beyond results. She has guided multiple roster evolutions while maintaining a clear identity, a demanding competitive standard, and a developmental approach that has become synonymous with the Reign.

Seattle returned to the 2025 NWSL Playoffs, improving by 16 points from the previous season while integrating numerous new signings and emerging young players. Several earned their first international call‑ups, underscoring the club’s emphasis on long‑term development and competitive depth.
Harvey’s tenure has also produced standout individual performances: 17 Reign players have combined for 34 NWSL Best XI selections, reflecting both elite talent and an environment designed to challenge and elevate players.
