Detroit vs Dallas

It has been a long time coming for Detroit Lions fans but, on Sunday, the team clinched its first NFC North Division title in 30 years with a 30-24 victory over the Vikings in Minnesota. Rookie running back sensation Jahmyr Gibbs ran for two scores, fellow RB David Montgomery ran for another, and star WR Amon-Ra St. Brown had 106 yards receiving and a touchdown in the historic victory. Quarterback Jared Goff had a strong day as well with 257 yards passing without an interception. The Lions’ defense did its part as well with four interceptions in the game including a game-clinching pick. The Dallas Cowboys have been the what team will show up this season. At home, the Cowboys look like a team with super bowl aspirations. On the road, the Cowboys look like a team that will be one and done in the playoffs in January. There is, of course, the chance that the Lions can get the top playoff spot in the NFC, but they’d need to win out and also need the 49ers to lose out, which just isn’t happening given their remaining schedule. But there’s also the motivation to hold onto the No. 2 spot, which the Lions would do if they win their next two games and the 49ers do the same. So does Dan Campbell go all out for it? It seems likely to me. He doesn’t strike me as the coach who wants to rest players and potentially take them out of rhythm. As such, I think 5.5 is too many points in this scenario.
