NEW YORK – The New York Sirens announced today that forward Sarah Fillier, the reigning Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Rookie of the Year, has signed a two-year Standard Player Agreement to remain with the club through the 2026–27 season.

Selected first overall in the 2024 PWHL Draft, Fillier led the league in scoring during her rookie campaign, tallying 29 points (13 goals, 16 assists) in 30 games. She was named both a PWHL First Team All-Star and a member of the All-Rookie Team, with her 13 goals ranking fourth league-wide and her five power-play goals leading all skaters. Fillier also tied the single-season record for assists (16) and became the first player in PWHL history to score in five consecutive games and record multiple four-game assist streaks.

“Today is a milestone for our organization,” said Sirens General Manager Pascal Daoust. “Sarah is a transformational player whose passion, skill, and leadership will continue to drive our culture and connect with our fanbase. She’s the kind of talent who elevates everyone around her—and we’re thrilled to build the future here in New York with her.”

Fillier, 25, is a native of Georgetown, Ontario, and starred collegiately at Princeton University, where she registered 194 points in 120 games—fourth-most in program history. On the international stage, she is a decorated member of Team Canada, winning Olympic gold in 2022 and earning three IIHF Women’s World Championship titles, along with two silver medals and Tournament MVP honors in 2023.

“I’m thrilled to be staying in New York for two more years,” Fillier said. “It’s an incredible city and a special group, and I’m proud to be part of something we’re building together. I can’t wait to see where we go next.”

Fillier joins a deep Sirens forward group for the upcoming season, which includes Emmy Fecteau, Taylor Girard, Elle Hartje, Paetyn Levis, Savannah Norcross, Kristin O’Neill, Noora Tulus, and Kayla Vespa.
