Frazier, 33, recorded an 82% contact rate in 2024 during his sole season with the Kansas City Royals, also marking his third consecutive postseason appearance.

Originally selected by the Pirates in the sixth round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Mississippi State University, Frazier played with Pittsburgh from 2016 to 2021. During that time, he posted a .283 batting average (571-for-2019) with 119 doubles, 20 triples, 39 home runs, 204 RBI, and 288 runs scored in 608 games.

Frazier was a two-time Gold Glove finalist at second base with the Pirates in 2019 and 2020. In his final year with Pittsburgh in 2021, he represented the team at the All-Star Game and was honored with the Heart and Hustle Award for the second time in his career (previously in 2017).

The left-handed hitter has a career batting average of .264 (903-for-3425), with 180 doubles, 28 triples, 60 home runs, 339 RBI, and 468 runs scored in 1066 major league games. His career includes time with Pittsburgh (2016-21), San Diego (2021), Seattle (2022), Baltimore (2023), and Kansas City (2024).

Throughout his big league career, Frazier has made 734 appearances at second base, 141 in left field, 98 in right field, 16 in center field, 15 at third base, five at shortstop, and one at first base.

To make room for Frazier on the 40-man roster, the Pirates have designated right-handed pitcher Elvis Alvarado for assignment. Pittsburgh’s 40-man roster remains full.
