The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed right-handed pitcher Daulton Jefferies on the 15-day injured list with right elbow discomfort.

Right-handed pitcher Ryder Ryan has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.

This is Ryan’s fifth stint with the Pirates this season (also March 28 to April 9, April 14-26, May 14-21, and June 11-13).

He is 1-0 with a 3.46 ERA (13.0ip/5er), 14 strikeouts and .196 batting average against in his previous 11 appearances this season with the Pirates.

Ryan has also gone 0-1 with two saves and a 4.09 ERA (22.0ip/10er) in 17 appearances this season with Indianapolis.

The 29-year-old Ryan will wear uniform No. 72.
