Pittsburgh Pirates complete four roster related transactions

The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed left-handed pitcher Martín Pérez on the 15-day injured list (retro to May 27) with a left groin muscle strain.

Catcher Joey Bart has been placed on the 10-day injured list (retro to May 27) with an injury to his left thumb.

Infielder Ke’Bryan Hayes has been activated from the 10-day injured list (low back inflammation).

The Pirates have also selected the contract of catcher Grant Koch (pronounced cook) to the Major League roster.

The 27-year-old Koch went 9-for-54 (.167) with two doubles, one home run and five RBI in 17 games this season with Triple-A Indianapolis before being added to the Major League taxi squad on May 22.

Koch, who has no previous big-league experience, was selected by the Pirates in the fifth round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Arkansas.

He will wear uniform No. 56.
