The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed left-handed pitcher Ryan Borucki on the 15-day injured list (retro to April 6) with left triceps inflammation.
Left-handed pitcher Jose Hernandez has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis. Hernandez is active for today’s game against the Orioles.
This is Hernandez’ second stint with the Pirates this season after also being with the team from March 28-31. Hernandez tossed a combined 2.0 scoreless innings in two appearances during his first stint this season with Pittsburgh while also recording the first save of his big league career on March 28 (Opening Day) at Miami.
In addition, infielder/outfielder Ji Hwan Bae, who has been on the 10-day injured list since March 28 (retro to March 25) with a left hip muscle strain, is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment today with Low-A Bradenton.
