The Pittsburgh Pirates today ended the rehab assignment of catcher Yasmani Grandal with Triple-A Indianapolis and activated him from the 10-day injured list (left foot plantar fasciitis).
Catcher Henry Davis has been optioned to Triple-A to make room for Grandal on the 26-man active roster.
Grandal hit .257 (9-for-35) with two doubles, a home run and 11 RBI in nine games on rehab with Indianapolis.
Grandal will wear uniform No. 6.
