Prior to today’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, the Phillies returned outfielder Brandon Marsh from his rehab assignment with double-A Reading and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list. To make room for him on the 26-man roster, infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson was optioned to triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Marsh, 26, has played in 52 games for the Phillies this season and has slashed .265/.344/.426 with a .770 OPS and 120 OPS+. He is tied for second among all National League outfielders in Defensive Runs Saved with seven. Originally placed on the injured list on June 3 with a right hamstring strain, he made two rehab appearances with Reading and collected four hits in eight at bats with one walk and two runs scored.
A native of Buford, Ga., Marsh, originally selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft, was acquired by the Phillies from the Angels on Aug. 2, 2022, in exchange for Logan O’Hoppe.
In his first stint with the Phillies this year, Wilson appeared in two games and made one start at second base on June 9 against the New York Mets. Wilson, 29, was signed by the Phillies as a minor league free agent on January 3, 2023. He was originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 17th round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Clemson University (SC).
