OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s reinstated infielder Abraham Toro from the 10-day injured list and placed infielder Jacob Wilson on the 10-day IL retroactive to July 20 with a strained left hamstring, the club announced today.
Toro was on the A’s Opening Day roster and was batting .260 with six home runs and 24 RBI in 73 games when he was placed on the 10-day injured list June 22 with a strained right hamstring. He was sent to the A’s affiliate in the Arizona Complex League for a rehab assignment on July 15 and went 3-for-8 (.375) with a home run and four RBI in three games before moving to Las Vegas yesterday. He went 2-for-4 with the Aviators and was 5-for-12 (.417) with a home run and four RBI in four rehab games overall.
Wilson was selected from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday and went 1-for-1 in a start at shortstop in his Major League debut. He singled off Griffin Canning in the third inning for his first big league hit but left the game after three innings with a strained left hamstring.
