OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s have acquired infielder Jordan Groshans from the New York Yankees in exchange for infielder J.D. Davis and cash considerations, the club announced today.

Groshans, 24, is batting .232 with one home run and 15 RBI in 50 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Double-A Somerset this season, after being claimed off waivers by the Yankees on Feb. 13. Originally drafted by Toronto in the first round (12th overall) of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of Magnolia High School, he was traded to Miami in 2022 for Anthony Bass, Zach Pop and a player to be named later (Edward Duran). Groshans made his Major League debut with the Marlins on Sept. 13, 2022, and batted .262 with one home run and two RBI in 17 games. Overall, the Texas native is a career .267 hitter with 24 home runs, 205 RBI, 201 walks and 312 strikeouts in 424 games across six minor league seasons.

Davis was signed by the A’s as a free agent on March 16 and hit .232 with four home runs, five RBI and a .658 OPS in 43 games with Oakland. He is a .273 career hitter with 119 home runs and 386 RBI in 839 games in eight seasons in the majors with the Astros (2017-18), Mets (2019-22), Giants (2022-23) and A’s (2024). Davis was designated for assignment on June 18.
