TEAM NOTES
TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
The New York Islanders visit the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third and final matchup between the two clubs this season. The last time these teams met was January 11, when Mathew Barzal and Noah Dobson each recorded four-point contests to help the Islanders earn a 4-3 overtime win at UBS Arena. The Islanders return to action following their bye week and All-Star break tonight and will look to capture points for the seventh time in their last ten meetings against an Atlantic Division opponent.
POWER PLAY
The Islanders set a new season-high as they scored three power play goals on January 25 in Montreal (Horvat, Barzal, Palmieri). It was the first time since April 28, 2022 that the Islanders recorded three power play goals in a single game, and the fourth time in the last ten years that they achieved the feat in a road game. It was also the first game that the team found the back of the net on the power play since January 11 vs. Toronto.
