* Anton Lundell put up a three-goal performance to help the Panthers become the first team in 35 years to record five hat tricks in a single calendar month.
* The Flames earned their 61st consecutive win when scoring four-plus goals in a game and became just the third team in NHL history to post a run of that length.
* The NHL’s busiest Halloween since 2015 features four Saturday Night Hockey showdowns on Sportsnet, beginning with Connor McDavid and the Oilers battling Matthew Schaefer and the Islanders in a matinee matchup.

LUNDELL ADDS TO PANTHERS’ OCTOBER HAT-TRICK HAUL
Anton Lundell (3-0—3) scored his first career hat trick – and Florida’s NHL-leading fifth of the season – while Seth Jones (1-2—3) put up a three-point performance to conclude a productive October as the Panthers defeated the Jets to earn a victory at Amerant Bank Arena.

* The Panthers have five hat tricks through 14 games this season – tied for the second most in a campaign in franchise history, behind only 2021-22 (6). Florida became the fastest team to reach five hat tricks in a season since Toronto in 1922-23 (8 GP) – the fewest games to the mark is three, which was also achieved by Toronto in 1917-18.
* The Panthers also became the fifth team in NHL history to record four hat tricks through their first four home games of a season. The others: the original Ottawa Senators (5 in 1917-18 & 4 in 1919-20), Montreal (4 in 1919-20) and Toronto (4 in 1917-18).
* Jones boosted his totals since Oct. 1 to 2-16—18 (13 GP) and tied Quinn Hughes (2026), Adam Fox (2026), John Carlson (2019) and Brian Leetch (1990) for the most assists by an American defenseman in a single October. Jones also surpassed Keith Yandle (17 in March 2018) for the most points by a Panthers defenseman in a single calendar month.

* The Flames earned their 61st consecutive win when scoring four or more goals in a game, which is tied with the Bruins (61 GP from Jan. 18, 1927 to Nov. 24, 1931) for the second-longest such streak in NHL history. BUSY 10-GAME SLATE FEATURES A WHOLE LOT OF HALLOWEEN HOCKEY
The NHL’s busiest Halloween since 2015 (10 GP) features six matinees and is highlighted by four Saturday Night Hockey games on Sportsnet: Connor McDavid and the Oilers battle Matthew Schaefer and the Islanders; Auston Matthews and the Maple Leafs visit Elias Pettersson and the Canucks; Sidney Crosby leads the Penguins into Montreal; and the final treat of the night features Martin Necas and the reigning Presidents’ Trophy-winning Avalanche hosting the Flames.

* McDavid, who has tallied 8-26—34 since Oct. 1, enters the final day of the month two points shy of matching Mario Lemieux (16-20—36 in 1992) for the second most in a single October in League history. Lemieux tops the list with 16-22—38 in 1988. Across the ice, Schaefer looks to extend his point streak to seven games and match Tim Connolly (7 GP in 2000-01) and Brent Sutter (7 GP in 1981-82) for the fourth longest by a teenager in Islanders history behind Pat LaFontaine (11 GP in 1984-85) and Bryan Trottier (9 GP & 8 GP in 1975-76).
* Matthews will look to surpass Mats Sundin (65 GP) and tie Mitch Marner (66 GP) for the second-most three-point games in Maple Leafs history when Toronto contests a Halloween showdown against Vancouver – the Maple Leafs lead all active franchises with 15 wins on Oct. 31 (15-10-3). Meanwhile, at the opposite end of the ice, Petterssonwill look to help the Canucks improve upon their eight wins on Halloween (8-6-1), tied for the fifth most by a non-Original Six franchise.

* Crosby takes the ice in Montreal aiming to become the eighth player in NHL history with 800 career road points (306-492—798 in 718 GP) and just the second active behind Alex Ovechkin (476-347—823 in 793 GP). Meanwhile, Cole Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky will look to become the third and fourth Canadiens players in the past 30 years to post a four-game multi-point streak on home ice, following Nick Suzuki (2024-25) and Vincent Damphousse (1996-97).
* Necas looks to add to his Halloween success when Colorado hosts Calgary at Ball Arena – his 11 points on Oct. 31 are the most among all active skaters (3-8—11 in 4 GP). The Flames, who will look to keep Necas off the score sheet Saturday, have the highest winning and point percentages (both .833) among all teams to play at least one game on Halloween.
