Pirates and Marlins make four-player deal
The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired right-handed pitcher Zach Thompson, outfielder Connor Scott and right-handed pitcher Kyle Nicolas from the Miami Marlins in exchange for catcher Jacob Stallings. The announcement was made by General Manager Ben Cherington.
Braves outfielder Ozuna disciplined
Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. announced today that Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna has retroactively received an unpaid suspension of 20 regular season games for violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. The unpaid suspension of Ozuna includes all 20 regular season games served while he was on Administrative Leave between his September 10th placement and the conclusion of the 2021 season.
Ben Gamel agrees to terms on contract for 2022
The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced that outfielder Ben Gamel has agreed to terms on a oneyear contract for the 2022 season, thus avoiding salary arbitration.
