Boxing Match Preview: Omari Jones (5-0-0, 4 KOs) vs. Christian Gomez (23-6-1, 21 KOs)

Venue: Caribe Royale Orlando, Orlando, Florida, United States.
The DAZN broadcast begins at 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. GMT, with undercard ringwalks staggered from ~7:00 p.m. ET onward (this bout expected mid-undercard, roughly 8:00–9:00 p.m. ET depending on prior results; main event targeted ~9:00–10:00 p.m. ET).

Injury Report

No injuries or medical issues reported for either fighter. Both made weight cleanly and have completed full camps. The matchup remains fully confirmed with no logistical or health-related concerns as of fight week.

Fighter Matchups & Styles

  • Omari “Banger” Jones: 23 years old (born November 7, 2002), 5′ 11″ (180 cm), orthodox. Orlando, Florida native and 2024 Paris Olympian (bronze medalist background). Explosive power puncher with elite amateur pedigree transitioning to pros—four of five wins by stoppage, all early. Strong body attack, sharp jab, and finishing instinct. Home-crowd advantage in Orlando will be electric.
  • Christian “Ninote” Gomez: 32 years old, 5′ 7″ (170 cm), 70″ reach, orthodox. Guadalajara, Mexico native. Veteran power puncher (21 KOs in 23 wins) with regional titles (WBC Latino Welter, etc.), but recent losses and significant inactivity. Pressure fighter who relies on durability and one-punch threat, but has been stopped twice and dropped multiple times against quality opposition.

Tale of the Tape edge: Jones in youth, height, activity, amateur pedigree, and power. Gomez has experience but gives up size and momentum.

Recent Form

Jones (last 5, all wins—reverse chronological):

  • Jan 24, 2026 – W UD6 Jerome Baxter (first decision; dominated with 60-53 x3 scorecards after dropping him).
  • Nov 1, 2025 – W TKO3 (1:31) Yusuph Metu (home stoppage in Orlando).
  • Jul 19, 2025 – W TKO3 (1:31) Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco.
  • Apr 12, 2025 – W TKO1 (1:47 body shot) William Jackson.
  • Pro debut (early 2025) – W TKO (quick stoppage).

Jones is 5-0 with 4 KOs, showing rapid improvement and finishing ability against progressively tougher foes.

Gomez (last several—highly inactive):

  • Jul 2025 – L vs. Alberto Ignacio Palmetta (WBC Latino Welter title fight).
  • Nov 2024 – L vs. Nicklaus Flaz.
  • Apr 2024 – W vs. Jesus Arturo Acosta Zazueta.
  • Jan 2023 – L vs. Isaias Lucero.
  • May 2022 – L vs. Shakhram Giyasov (IBF North American title; dropped multiple times).

Gomez is 23-6-1 overall but has lost 4 of his last 6 and hasn’t fought in ~8–9 months. His power remains but confidence and ring rust are concerns.

Fight History Context

Jones is a blue-chip prospect with Olympic-level pedigree and zero pro defeats, building momentum on DAZN/Matchroom cards. Gomez is a tough Mexican veteran with 91% KO rate in wins but has been exposed against rising contenders and title-level foes (multiple knockdowns and stoppage losses). This is a classic “prospect vs. faded veteran” test—Gomez’s last meaningful wins were years ago against lesser opposition.

Boxing Match Preview: Michael Conlan (20-3-0, 10 KOs) vs. Kevin Walsh (19-0-0, 10 KOs)

Venue: SSE Arena (Odyssey Arena), Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The broadcast begins at approximately 3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT / 7:00 p.m. GMT, with main-event ringwalks expected around 5:41 p.m. ET / 9:41 p.m. GMT (roughly 10:00 p.m. local UK time).

Injury Report

No injuries have been reported for either fighter leading into fight week. Both have completed full training camps and made weight without issue. Conlan’s past foot injury (2020) and any historical concerns are resolved; Walsh has no known medical flags. The bout is expected to proceed as scheduled with both at 100% capacity.

Fighter Matchups & Styles

  • Michael Conlan (“Irish Mick”): 34 years old, 5′ 8″ (173 cm), 69″ reach, orthodox. Former Olympic bronze medalist, two-time world-title challenger (lost to Leigh Wood and Luis Alberto Lopez). Technical southpaw-style mover with excellent footwork, jab, and body work. Strong finisher when he smells blood (10 KOs). Home-crowd advantage in Belfast will be massive.
  • Kevin Walsh (“King”): 33 years old, 5′ 7½″ (171 cm), 65″ reach, orthodox. Brockton, Massachusetts native (Marvin Hagler’s hometown). Late pro starter (turned pro at ~27 after amateur boxing and personal setbacks). Power puncher (10 KOs in 19 wins) with relentless pressure and durability. Regional titles include WBC USA Silver Feather and New England belts. This is his biggest step up by far.

Tale of the Tape edge: Conlan in reach, experience, and ring IQ. Walsh in raw power and undefeated momentum.

Recent Form

Conlan (last 5 shown chronologically reverse):

  • Sep 2025 – W TKO4 Jack Bateson (captured vacant WBC International title in Dublin; dropped Bateson twice).
  • Mar 2025 – W UD8 Asad Asif Khan (solid comeback points win after long layoff).
  • Dec 2023/2024 – L TKO7 Jordan Gill (stopped in hometown).
  • May 2024 – L TKO (corner stoppage) vs. Luis Alberto Lopez (IBF title shot).
  • Earlier wins over Karim Guerfi, Miguel Marriaga, etc.

Conlan is 2-0 in his current rebuild, looking sharper and hungrier than in his recent losses.

Walsh (last several):

  • Late 2025 – W UD8 Jose Sosa.
  • Sep 2025 – W KO1 Angel Luna.
  • May 2025 – W vs. Tramaine Williams (split decision).
  • Feb 2025 – W TKO8 Ricky de los Santos (won WBC USA Silver).
  • Nov 2024 – W TKO4 Irvin Gonzalez (New England title).

Walsh has been highly active (four fights in 2025) and has stopped or dominated most recent opponents. He enters with genuine knockout threat but zero experience against top-10 level opposition.

Fight History Context

Conlan has shared the ring with world champions and contenders (Wood, Lopez, Gill, Doheny, Baluta). He has been stopped three times—all in high-level fights—showing chin concerns against elite pressure. Walsh’s résumé is padded with regional and journeyman wins; this is his first true “acid test.” The fight pits proven elite experience and home advantage against undefeated power and momentum.

U.S. Revenue Surge Lifts Bragg’s Q4 Results Despite Dutch Market Decline

Bragg Gaming Group posted stronger‑than‑expected Q4 2025 results, driven by significant U.S. growth and expanding proprietary content sales, even as tightening regulations in the Netherlands weighed on overall performance.

Revenue Performance

The Toronto‑based iGaming technology and content supplier reported USD $31.8 million in Q4 revenue, with a 5.1% year‑over‑year increase when excluding the Netherlands. Full‑year revenue reached a record USD $123 million, up 4% from 2024.

Including the Netherlands, total Q4 revenue rose 1.9% year‑over‑year.

Netherlands Market Contraction

Revenue from the Dutch market fell 4.6% compared to Q4 2024, reflecting broader market contraction tied to higher taxes and stricter regulatory requirements.

Other regions delivered strong gains:

  • Brazil: +42.1% YoY
  • United States: +55.0% YoY, fueled by increased sales of high‑margin proprietary content

PAM Platform Expansion

Bragg highlighted several key platform wins in Q4:

  • 711.nl extended its PAM agreement to include Belgium’s regulated market
  • Entain expanded its PAM deal for BetCity.nl in the Netherlands
  • Senator Group renewed its PAM partnership for Croatia
  • SuomiVeto signed a new PAM and turnkey agreement for Finland’s upcoming regulated market, launching July 1, 2027

Workforce Reduction & AI Strategy

Bragg also announced a 12% global workforce reduction, part of a broader restructuring tied to its long‑term AI strategy.

Central to that plan is the Bragg AI Brain, a data‑driven engine designed to:

  • Integrate AI‑enhanced features into 90%+ of new product launches
  • Automate over 75% of operational workflows by 2027

CEO Matevž Mazij said the company delivered “record revenues, strategic expansion and important AI and restructuring initiatives,” positioning Bragg for continued growth in 2026.

Mazij added that Bragg aims to:

  • Expand content market share in Brazil and the U.S.
  • Pursue emerging verticals such as Historical Horse Racing, Live Racing, and Prediction Markets
  • Enter new jurisdictions offering higher‑margin content opportunities

Jackpot Digital Expands Into New Mexico

The casino will install two Jackpot Blitz dealerless electronic poker tables, which feature:

  • 4K touchscreen gameplay
  • Automated card‑vending technology
  • Real‑time player tracking (stats, bankroll, bonuses)
  • Access to additional games including Blackjack and Baccarat

The deal marks another step in Jackpot’s expansion across tribal and commercial casinos in North America.

NWSL Match Preview: Seattle Reign (1-0-0) vs. Portland Thorns (1-0-0)

Venue Location: Providence Park, Portland, Oregon (capacity ~25,518; natural grass surface). This marks Portland’s 2026 home opener in front of what was a record-setting crowd for the fixture.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM PT (10:00 PM ET).
Broadcast: Prime Video (national streaming); local options via Portland Thorns and Seattle Reign FC channels.

Weather Updates

Typical early-spring Pacific Northwest conditions prevailed: mild temperatures with daytime highs in the mid-50s°F, cooling to the low-to-mid 50s°F (around 11–13°C) by kickoff and into the evening. Light winds, partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, and minimal precipitation risk created playable conditions, though the damp grass and cool air favored a gritty, physical contest typical of this rivalry. Humidity was moderate, with no major weather disruptions reported.

Injury Report / Player Availability

Seattle Reign FC:

OUT: Lynn Biyendolo (maternity leave), Jordyn Bugg (leg), Mia Fishel (leg – injured in Week 1), Shae Holmes (lower leg), Sally Menti (knee), Cassie Miller (leg – SEI).

One lineup change from the opener: Maddie Mercado started in place of the unavailable Mia Fishel.

Portland Thorns FC:

OUT: Bella Bixby (knee – SEI), Julie Dufour (knee – SEI), Caiya Hanks (knee – SEI), Morgan Weaver (knee – SEI).

International Duty: Mackenzie Arnold (Australia – AFC Women’s Asian Cup).

Goalkeeper Morgan Messner earned a rare start in net. Additional suspensions (e.g., Cassandra Bogere and Reyna Reyes in-game) impacted the match but were not pre-game absences.

Projected / Actual Starting Lineups

Seattle Reign FC (4-2-3-1) – Head Coach: Laura Harvey
GK: Claudia Dickey
DEF: Sofia Huerta, Emily Mason, Phoebe McClernon, Madison Curry
MF: Ainsley McCammon, Samantha Meza
AM: Nérilia Mondésir, Jess Fishlock (c), Maddie Dahlien
FW: Maddie Mercado

Portland Thorns FC (4-2-3-1) – Head Coach: Robert Vilahamn
GK: Morgan Messner
DEF: Reyna Reyes, Isabella Bryld Obaze, Samantha Hiatt, Mary Alice Vignola
MF: Jessie Fleming, Cassandra Bogere
AM: Reilyn Turner, Marie-Yasmine Alidou, Olivia Moultrie
FW: Pietra Tordin (Substitutions and late adjustments occurred, including Sophia Wilson’s home debut off the bench for Portland.)

Key Player Matchups to Watch

Pietra Tordin & Reilyn Turner (POR) vs. Reign back line (McClernon/Curry): Tordin opened the scoring early, exploiting space; Turner added the second. Reign’s defense faced constant pressure despite numerical advantages later.

Jess Fishlock & Nérilia Mondésir (SEA) vs. Portland midfield (Fleming/Bogere): Fishlock’s experience and Mondésir’s creativity drove Seattle’s attack, but Portland’s compact shape limited their impact.

Morgan Messner (POR) vs. Seattle’s forward threats: The young keeper delivered a strong performance in a high-stakes home debut against a possession-oriented Reign side.

Rivalry intensity: Multiple red cards (including Reyna Reyes for violent conduct) highlighted the physical duels, particularly in the second half as Portland defended shorthanded.

Team Recent Form

Both teams entered with 1-0-0 records after narrow Week 1 victories. Seattle Reign FC form: 2-1 road win over Orlando Pride. They showed attacking fluency with goals from Fishlock and a substitute, plus strong late pressure, but traveled extensively and struggled to break down organized defenses in this matchup. Portland Thorns FC form: Road win over Washington Spirit in Week 1 (under new coach Robert Vilahamn). They carried that momentum into a gritty home opener, demonstrating resilience by scoring twice while reduced to 10 and then 9 players.

Series History

This was the 44th meeting overall in NWSL competition between these fierce Cascadia rivals. Historically competitive: Portland held a slight edge entering the match (roughly 17-16-10 in prior games). At Providence Park, Portland has been dominant recently, unbeaten in their last six home regular-season matches against Seattle (4 wins, 2 draws). The Thorns improved their all-time record to 18W-16L-10D overall and 13W-7L-4D at home vs. Seattle. Seattle had not won at Providence Park in recent years.

Betting Trends

Portland has performed well as home favorites in early-season derbies and against travel-weary opponents.

Cascadia matches often feature high intensity and cards; this game saw multiple reds and a low-scoring but eventful affair.

Unders have hit in several recent Providence Park meetings when one side sits deep defensively.

Shorthanded home teams in rivalries (especially with passionate crowds) have shown remarkable cover rates in similar historical spots. Seattle’s road form post-travel has been inconsistent.

Venue Location: Lynn Family Stadium, Louisville, Kentucky (capacity ~15,000; natural grass surface, home opener for Racing).
Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET.
Broadcast: Victory+ (free streaming with account); local radio on Sports Talk 790 AM / 790louisville.com (Racing) and dedicated Spirit broadcast coverage.

Weather Updates

Unseasonably warm and pleasant conditions for early-season NWSL play. Daytime highs reached the low-to-mid 70s°F with partly sunny skies and south winds 7–14 mph (gusts up to 22 mph possible). At kickoff and through the evening, expect temperatures in the low-to-mid 60s°F (around 17–18°C) cooling to the low 50s°F by full time, with increasing cloud cover but no precipitation risk. Humidity moderate (~60%), making for ideal open-play conditions with good visibility and minimal weather impact on passing or fan comfort.

Injury Report / Player Availability

Washington Spirit:

OUT: Ashley Hatch (maternity leave), Aubrey Kingsbury (maternity leave), Casey Krueger (maternity leave).

No additional questionables reported for this fixture; Andi Sullivan (returning from long-term injury/maternity) available as a late substitute option.

Racing Louisville FC:

OUT: None reported.

Full squad available for home opener, including several debutants and young players integrated from Week 1.

Projected / Actual Starting Lineups (from team news)Racing Louisville FC (4-2-3-1) – Head Coach: Bev Yanez
GK: Jordyn Bloomer
DEF: Mirann Gacioch (professional debut), Courtney Petersen, Ellie Jean, Lauren Milliet (c)
MF: Taylor Flint, Katie O’Kane
AM: Kayla Fischer, Ella Hase, Emma Sears
FW: Sarah Weber Washington Spirit (4-2-3-1) – Head Coach: Adrián González
GK: Sandy MacIver
DEF: Lucia Di Guglielmo, Tara McKeown (c), Esme Morgan, Gabby Carle
MF: Rebeca Bernal, Hal Hershfelt
AM: Trinity Rodman, Leicy Santos, Rosemonde Kouassi
FW: Sofia Cantore (Benches featured depth options including Andi Sullivan, Gift Monday, Claudia Martínez for Spirit; Macey Hodge, Taylor White for Racing. Late changes possible.)

Key Player Matchups to Watch

Emma Sears & Sarah Weber (LOU) vs. Spirit back line (Morgan/McKeown): Sears led Racing in chances created in Week 1; Weber scored the opener equalizer. Spirit’s rebuilt defense will be tested early.

Trinity Rodman (WAS) vs. Racing fullbacks (Milliet/Gacioch): The world’s highest-paid women’s player and USWNT star faces a youthful, energetic Racing right side in her first road test of 2026.

Rebeca Bernal & Hal Hershfelt (WAS) vs. Racing midfield (Flint/O’Kane): Control of the center will be key—Bernal was flawless in duels in Week 1.

Rookie debut impact: Mirann Gacioch’s first pro start adds unpredictability to Racing’s back line against Spirit’s youthful front three (Rodman, Kouassi, Cantore).

Team Recent Form

Both teams enter with identical 0-1-0 records after narrow Week 1 defeats. Racing Louisville FC form: 2-1 road loss to North Carolina Courage. Dominated key metrics (xG 2.53–1.04, more shots and chances created) despite lower possession; showed fight with a first-half stoppage-time equalizer but conceded late. Strong home form historically at Lynn Family Stadium. Washington Spirit form: 0-1 home loss to Portland Thorns. Dominated possession and duels but generated just one shot on target; defensive solidity noted but attack (17-goal front three combo from 2025) sputtered. Back-to-back NWSL Championship finalists looking to rebound on the road.

Series History

The Spirit hold a commanding all-time edge: 6 wins, 6 draws, 1 loss in 13 meetings (23–13 goal differential). Washington are unbeaten in their last 11 matches against Racing (since May 2021) and have scored in every meeting since 2021. Last year’s three encounters featured five different Spirit goal-scorers (four still on the roster). The teams met in the 2025 NWSL Quarterfinals (1-1 draw, Spirit advanced on penalties). Racing’s last home win in the series was in 2021.

Betting Trends

Spirit have covered or won 11 straight vs. Racing and perform well after low-scoring home shutouts (historical pattern of multi-goal response).

Racing home openers have all drawn in recent history; Week 1 showed high xG but finishing issues.

Early NWSL road favorites with strong head-to-head edges (like Spirit) have high cover rates.

Unders have hit in several recent Spirit-Racing meetings despite attacking talent on both sides.

NWSL Match Preview: Orlando Pride (0-1-0) vs. Denver Summit FC (0-1-0)

Venue Location: Inter&Co Stadium, Orlando, Florida (capacity ~25,500; natural grass surface).
Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET (5:00 PM MT).
Broadcast: Victory+ (U.S. streaming); local radio options via Orlando Pride and Denver Summit FC channels.

Weather Updates

Mild and favorable soccer conditions are forecast for kickoff and throughout the evening. Daytime highs reached the mid-70s°F earlier, with temperatures at 8:00 PM expected in the low-to-mid 60s°F (around 17–19°C), cooling slightly into the upper 50s by full time. Light northerly winds around 8–10 mph, humidity near 75%, and mostly clear to partly cloudy skies with no meaningful precipitation risk. These are near-ideal conditions for an open, high-tempo match with minimal weather impact on play or fan comfort.

Injury Report / Player Availability

Orlando Pride (presented by Orlando Health):

OUT: Kerry Abello (hip), Zara Chavoshi (lower leg), Cosette Morche (ankle – D45), Kylie Nadaner (maternity leave), Nicole Payne (knee – SEI), Viviana Villacorta (knee).

QUESTIONABLE: Rafaelle (thigh).

Available/Returning: Forward Barbra Banda was recently cleared from the season-ending injury list and is expected to start after scoring in the opener.

Denver Summit FC:

OUT: Jasmine Aikey (knee), Camryn Biegalski (knee), Jordan Baggett (maternity leave), Janine Sonis (suspension – straight red card in Week 1).

QUESTIONABLE: Meg Boade (illness), Delanie Sheehan (illness).

Note: Denver will be without their captain and attacking fullback Sonis, forcing defensive adjustments on the road.

Projected Starting Lineups

Orlando Pride (4-2-3-1) – Head Coach: Seb Hines
GK: Anna Moorhouse
DEF: Cori Dyke, Hannah Anderson, Hailie Mace, Oihane
DM: Haley McCutcheon, Ally Lemos
AM: Jacquie Ovalle, Summer Yates, Seven Castain
FW: Barbra Banda

Denver Summit FC (4-3-3) – Head Coach: Nick Cushing
GK: Abby Smith
DEF: Carson Pickett, Kaleigh Kurtz, Eva Gaetino, Ayo Oke
DM: Emma Regan, Devon Lynch
AM: Yuna McCormack, Natasha Flint, Yazmeen Ryan
FW: Melissa Kössler (Benches and late changes possible based on final availability.)

Key Player Matchups to Watch

Barbra Banda (ORL) vs. Denver CB pairing (Kurtz/Gaetino): Banda looked sharp in the opener and will target an expansion back line still gelling.

Melissa Kössler (DEN) vs. Pride center backs (Mace/Rafaelle if available): Kössler already has a goal in NWSL play and thrives on counters; Pride’s back line showed occasional shakiness in Week 1.

Carson Pickett & Ally Brazier (DEN) vs. former club: Two ex-Pride players return to Inter&Co Stadium – emotional matchup with familiar knowledge of Orlando’s tendencies.

Midfield battle (McCutcheon/Lemos vs. Regan/Lynch): Control of the center will dictate transition opportunities in what is expected to be a physical contest.

Team Recent Form

Both sides enter with identical 0-1-0 records and zero points after Week 1 defeats. Orlando Pride form: Lost 2-1 to Seattle Reign (home opener). They dominated large portions, created quality chances, and showed second-half fight (Banda goal), but defensive lapses on set pieces and poor finishing proved costly. Home form historically strong at Inter&Co. Denver Summit FC form: Lost 2-1 to Bay FC (inaugural match). Competed admirably despite playing 64+ minutes down a player after an early red card; Kössler’s equalizer highlighted attacking potential, but road fatigue and inexperience showed. As an expansion side (one of two new 2026 franchises), they are still building cohesion.

Series History

This is the first-ever meeting between Orlando Pride and Denver Summit FC. No prior competitive history exists. The return fixture is scheduled for May 16, 2026, in Colorado.

Betting Trends

Early-season NWSL home favorites (especially established clubs vs. expansion teams) have covered the moneyline at a high rate.

Orlando has been defensively sound at home historically, though Week 1 exposed some vulnerabilities.

Denver’s opener was low-event after the red card; expansion sides often play conservatively on the road in debut campaigns.

Under 2.5 goals has hit in similar “veteran home vs. new road” matchups early in the season. Pride games have trended lower-scoring when Banda is the primary threat without full support.

WSOP Circuit Returning to Latin America With 2026 Stop in Montevideo

The World Series of Poker Circuit will return to Latin America in 2026 with a tour stop in Montevideo, marking the series’ first visit to the region in several years. The event is scheduled for May 18–25, 2026, at Casino Carrasco, one of Uruguay’s premier gaming venues.

GGPoker will run exclusive online satellite tournaments ahead of the series, giving players across the region a chance to qualify for the stop at a fraction of the cost.

Twelve Gold Ring Events Planned

The Montevideo stop will feature 12 official WSOP Circuit ring events, along with a full slate of side tournaments, VIP experiences and international media coverage. Organizers say the return of the Circuit to Latin America underscores the region’s growing presence in the global poker landscape.

Casino Carrasco, set along Montevideo’s scenic waterfront, offers modern amenities and a high‑end tournament environment. Juan Carreño, GGPoker’s head of Spanish Latin America, said the stop gives regional players “a rare opportunity to experience a top‑tier poker festival close to home.”

The WSOP brand has seen rapid growth in recent years, including a record $60 million prize pool at a recent series.

Why Montevideo Matters

Montevideo’s mix of culture, coastal setting and established gaming infrastructure makes it an attractive destination for both players and fans. The event is expected to draw competitors from across South America and beyond, further elevating the region’s profile in live poker.

Interest in both online and live poker has surged across Latin America, driven by expanding platforms, increased tournament offerings and a steady flow of international events.

Online Satellites and Expanded Access

GGPoker has launched a full schedule of online satellites running March 30–May 10, 2026, offering a range of buy‑ins and formats. The qualifiers are designed to make the Montevideo stop accessible to players of all bankroll levels.

The operator also noted that its Olive Branch Initiative, launched last fall, allows previously banned players to apply for reinstatement — potentially expanding the pool of eligible participants for the 2026 event.

GGL says 23% of Germany’s gambling market remains unregulated

BERLIN – Germany’s gambling regulator is warning that the country’s illegal betting market continues to expand, estimating that roughly 23% of all online gambling activity is occurring outside the regulated system.

The Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder, or GGL, said in a new report that channelization — the share of players and spending directed to licensed operators — stood at 77.03% in 2024. The remaining share, the regulator said, is controlled by unlicensed platforms.

The GGL estimates that black‑market gross gaming revenue reached €547 million last year, up 17% from €466 million in 2023. The agency noted that such figures are inherently imprecise because illegal operators do not disclose financial data, but said the findings align with its previous assessments.

“The scientifically calculated channeling rate confirms our previous assumptions about the size of the black market,” GGL CEO Ronald Benter said. “The results support the fact‑based regulatory approach within the framework of the 2021 Interstate Treaty on Gambling.”

The study, conducted by the Blockchain Research Lab, surveyed 2,000 people who had gambled online in the previous year, excluding lotteries. Respondents listed the platforms they used and reported average stakes and losses. Researchers then classified operators as licensed or unlicensed using GGL data and other sources, supplementing the survey with behavioral tracking and proxy measures.

The report found that users of unlicensed sites reported higher average losses — €88.96 per session, compared with €77 on licensed platforms. Tipico, Bet‑at‑home, Betano and Bwin were the most commonly used regulated brands, while Stake.com, WooCasino and PlatinCasino were among the most frequently cited unlicensed operators.

The GGL said the findings highlight the difficulty of measuring and combating illegal gambling activity and called for expanded monitoring tools, including machine‑learning systems and transaction‑analysis methods, along with repeated consumer surveys.

Americas Cardroom Says OSS XL Has Paid Out More Than $20 Million to Date

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Americas Cardroom said Tuesday that its ongoing Online Super Series XL has already awarded more than $20 million in prize money, with the first third of the schedule completed and more than $28.2 million in guarantees still to come.

The OSS XL, an expanded version of the poker site’s flagship Online Super Series, features more than $50 million in guaranteed prize pools across a wide range of buy‑ins. Through the early stages, the series has generated $20,064,205 in payouts, surpassing the $19,377,750 posted guarantees.

Large tournament series have become a key driver of liquidity for online poker operators, particularly in crypto‑based environments where cross‑border participation can boost field sizes. Americas Cardroom has positioned the OSS XL as one of the largest recurring events in the crypto poker market.

The biggest payout so far came in “Phil’s Thrill XXL,” a $1.5 million guaranteed event that ultimately reached a $2,060,000 prize pool. The tournament drew 206 entries, with “ErculePokero” winning the title and $496,027. The event’s growth reflects the series’ strong early turnout.

“The early stages of the OSS XL have already produced significant prize pools, but the largest guarantees are still ahead,” said Chris Moneymaker, a sponsored pro with Americas Cardroom. “The Main Events traditionally attract some of the biggest fields in the series, and they’re where many of the headline payouts happen.”

The series’ biggest weekend arrives next, with three Main Events offering a combined $5 million in guarantees: two $2 million guaranteed tournaments with buy‑ins of $2,650 and $1,050, and a $1 million guaranteed Main Event priced at $215. Day 1A flights begin Sunday, followed by Day 1B on March 22. Survivors will return for Day 2 on March 23.

Additional multi‑flight events remain on the schedule, including a $1.5 million guaranteed tournament with a $630 buy‑in and two $500,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty events priced at $109. Lower‑buy‑in Mystery Bounty tournaments — including $150,000 and $100,000 guaranteed events — are also available.

Americas Cardroom is also running an OSS XL leaderboard competition that will award $65,000 in cash and tournament tickets across high‑, mid‑ and low‑stakes divisions.

With more than $28 million in guarantees still outstanding, organizers expect the final stretch of the OSS XL to produce the series’ largest prize pools and player fields. Players can participate using cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals through the platform.
