NBA Preview: Dallas Mavericks (12-11) at Denver Nuggets (14-9)

0

Nuggets attempt to put ugly losses behind them, gear up for Mavs

In less than 48 hours, the Denver Nuggets went from flying high to crashing and burning. A two-game losing streak can do that to a team, especially coming off four straight wins.

Denver lost two very winnable games at Atlanta and New Orleans and now has to be ready for the Dallas Mavericks, who are in town for a Tuesday night matchup.

Dallas is looking for a little payback against the Nuggets, who stole a game from the Mavericks in Dallas despite missing Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon in the 98-97 victory. That kick-started a four-game skid for the Mavericks, but they’ve bounced back to win three of their last four.

Denver has those three back but might be without Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (wrist). Michael Porter Jr. (heel) is already ruled out for Tuesday night, but Jeff Green (knee) is likely to return to action.

The injuries have forced head coach Michael Malone to shuffle his lineups, which has had an impact on the bench play. Reserves have been thrust into the starting lineup and there has been a lack of consistency from the bench.

It was evident in the loss to the Pelicans on Sunday afternoon when New Orleans’ bench outscored the Nuggets’ second unit 62-18.

If Green returns, he will bolster the reserve unit, but it goes deeper than just getting bodies back.

Dallas comes into Tuesday night after beating Phoenix 130-111 on Monday night, the second game in a row it has won in a rout. The Mavericks will be playing their seventh game in the last 11 days.

The tough schedule didn’t seem to slow down Luka Doncic, who had 33 points, eight assists and six rebounds in the rout of the Suns, and he did it while playing three quarters. Head coach Jason Kidd sat him for the last 12 minutes after Dallas built a big lead.

That bodes well for him and the Mavericks heading into Tuesday’s matchup with Denver.

Doncic has played 29 minutes in each of the last two games, well below his season average of 36.8 minutes per night. He has played 40-plus minutes in six games this season.

The Nuggets held Doncic in check the last time the teams played, but couldn’t contain him in the first game. He had 33 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in the 28-point Dallas win on Nov. 18. He followed that with a near triple-double of 22 points, nine rebounds and eight assists two nights later.

NBA Preview: Detroit Pistons (6-19) at Miami Heat (11-13)

0

Detroit point guard Killian Hayes, whose 3-point shooting is up in his third NBA season, is hoping to display his improvement on Tuesday night when the Pistons visit the Miami Heat.

Hayes is shooting 33.8 percent from beyond the arc this season. That’s significantly better than his 26.8 percent long-distance marksmanship over the past two seasons.

He has scored in double figures in five consecutive games, including a 22-point effort in an overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday. Hayes had eight of his 22 points in OT, making a pair of clutch 3-pointers.

Pistons coach Dwane Casey seems to have confidence in Hayes, who is averaging 8.1 points while ranking second on the team in assists (4.7 per game) and second in steals (1.1 per game).

The Pistons, who are 3-4 since a seven-game losing streak in November, are led in scoring by Bojan Bogdanovic (20.6 points per game). Young Pistons star Cade Cunningham (19.9 scoring average, team-high 6.0 assists) remains out due to a shin injury.

Reserve forward Saddiq Bey is coming off a team-high, 24-point performance on Sunday in Detroit’s 122-112 defeat against the visiting Memphis Grizzlies.

In fact, that’s one thing the Pistons and Heat have in common: Both teams lost to the Grizzlies in their most recent game.

The Heat lost 101-93 at Memphis on Monday.

The Grizzlies outscored the Heat 64-24 in the paint, and that statistic bothered Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.

Shooting guard Tyler Herro led Miami with 23 points, and he added a game-high 13 rebounds. Jimmy Butler added 18 points, a team-high eight assists and six rebounds.

It wasn’t enough, though, and Spoelstra said his team has to quickly turn its attention to the Pistons on the second night of back-to-back games.

Miami is 3-9 on the road but 8-4 at home.

NBA Preview: Los Angeles Lakers (10-12) at Cleveland Cavaliers (15-9)

0

The Cleveland Cavaliers aim to continue their sterling play at home on Tuesday against former face of the franchise LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the streaking Los Angeles Lakers.

The Cavaliers are returning home after dropping a 92-81 decision to the New York Knicks on Sunday. Cleveland fell to 5-8 on the road this season and looks vastly different than the team that has compiled a 10-1 record at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Donovan Mitchell made himself at home on Sunday because, well, he was home. The New York native scored a team-high 23 points in a losing effort against the Knicks.

The Cavaliers play decidedly better at home. They are averaging 115.6 points on 49.3 percent shooting from the floor and 39.9 percent from 3-point range, as opposed to 107.7, 46.0, 35.8, respectively, on the road.

Now, James used to call Cleveland his home for many years. Well, he is from Akron, but you get the point.

Anyway, James and a red-hot Davis have lit a fire under the Lakers. Los Angeles has made significant progress in turning around a dismal start to the season by winning eight of its last 10.

Davis followed up a 44-point, 10-rebound performance in the Lakers’ 133-129 victory in Milwaukee on Friday with a 55-point, 17-board effort two nights later in a 130-119 triumph against Washington.

Los Angeles is doing that on the road, too. The Lakers have won four in a row away from home, include the first two to start this six-game trek.

James scored 27 points in the Lakers’ 114-110 setback to the Cavaliers on Nov. 6. The loss was his second in 19 all-time meetings against Cleveland, with the other coming while he played with the Miami Heat on March 29, 2011.

Thursday Night Capsule – Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Rams

0

THURSDAY NIGHT PREVIEW:
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (5-7) AT LOS ANGELES RAMS (3-9)

Week 14 of the 2022 NFL season gets underway on Thursday, December 8 (8:15 PM ET, Prime Video) as the Las Vegas Raiders (5-7) visit the Los Angeles Rams (3-9). The Raiders hold the all-time regular-season series advantage, 8-6, however the Rams have won four of the past five matchups. Thursday will mark the first meeting between the two clubs at SoFi Stadium. The last time these two clubs met in Southern California was November 13, 1994, when the Los Angeles Raiders defeated the Los Angeles Rams, 20-17, at Anaheim Stadium.

Las Vegas enters Week 14 winners of three consecutive games, including a 27-20 victory over the Chargers last week in which they came back from a 10-0 first-half deficit. Quarterback DEREK CARR passed for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the victory, his fifth-straight game with multiple touchdown passes, the longest active streak in the AFC and tied for the second-longest active streak in the NFL. In his past five games on Thursday, Carr has totaled five touchdowns against zero interceptions with a 100.4 passer rating. With 20 passing yards in Los Angeles, Carr will become the third quarterback ever with at least 3,000 passing yards in each of his first nine seasons, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer PEYTON MANNING and RUSSELL WILSON

Running back JOSH JACOBS leads the NFL with a career-high 1,634 scrimmage yards (1,303 rushing, 331 receiving) this season and ranks tied for third with 10 rushing touchdowns. He has totaled 453 scrimmage yards (226.5 per game) and three rushing touchdowns over the past two weeks and can become the first player since EZEKIEL ELLIOTT in 2016 with at least 150 scrimmage yards in four consecutive games. Jacobs has recorded at least 100 scrimmage yards and a rushing touchdown in each of his past three Thursday games. Wide receiver DAVANTE ADAMS totaled a season-high 177 receiving yards with two touchdowns last week, his 20th-career game with multiple touchdown receptions. He is the sixth player with at least two touchdown receptions in 20-or-more games within his first nine seasons in the Super Bowl era. Adams has over 100 receiving yards in each of his two career regular-season games against the Rams and aims for his third in a row on Thursday with at least 10 catches and 170 receiving yards.

Defensive end MAXX CROSBY, who leads the NFL with 17 tackles for loss, recorded his third forced fumble of the season last week and has a forced fumble in two of his past three games. He aims for his third in a row on the road with at least 1.5 sacks and has recorded a tackle for loss in each of his seven road games this season. Defensive end CHANDLER JONES led the team with a season-high three sacks in Week 13, his fifth-career game with at least three sacks, tied for the fifth-most among active players. Jones had a sack and a forced fumble in his last regular-season game against the Rams (December 13, 2021 with Arizona) and has a sack in three of his past four on Thursday.

Last week, quarterback JOHN WOLFORD totaled 207 yards (178 passing, 29 rushing) in his second start of the season and running back CAM AKERS recorded his first-career game with two rushing touchdowns. Wide receiver TUTU ATWELL led the team with 48 receiving yards in Week 13 while wide receiver BRANDON POWELL registered a season-high 84 scrimmage yards (45 rushing, 39 receiving).

Linebacker BOBBY WAGNER recorded his first interception of the year in Week 13 and added his third-career game with two sacks and fifth career game with three tackles for loss. He has 97 tackles this season and aims for his 11th-consecutive 100-tackle season. Since entering the NFL in 2012, Wagner leads all players with 1,474 tackles. Linebacker LEONARD FLOYD has a sack in two of his past three at home and has 5.5 sacks in nine career Thursday games. Defensive back JALEN RAMSEY aims for his seventh in a row with at least six tackles and he is the only defensive back this season with at least 10 passes defensed (10) and multiple sacks (two).

Prime Video will stream 15 Thursday Night Football games this season (Weeks 2-17, excluding Thanksgiving). The game will feature Al Michaels, Kirk Herbstreit and Kaylee Hartung on the call.

World Cup Preview: Portugal at Switzerland

Portugal (2-0-1) is 3-0-1 in its last four matches against Switzerland (2-0-1). After splitting their two matches in the UEFA Nations League in June, these squads will look to cash in as a Portugal vs Switzerland prediction in this World Cup Round of 16 matchup on Tuesday.

Portugal vs Switzerland Betting Matchup Report
Portugal Vs Switzerland Opening Odds

The Portugal vs Switzerland odds in this knockout round matchup haven’t seen much movement since Portugal opened as a -110 favorite to win in regulation. Switzerland is going off at +350 to win during regulation while the draw odds in this one are listed at +240. The total on Tuesday is set at 2.5 goals.

Portugal Still Won Group H Despite Loss To South Korea
Portugal’s group stage ended on a low note with a 2-1 loss to South Korea on Friday. The outcome could have made a difference on the table if Ghana had defeated Uruguay, but Portugal remained in the top spot of Group H as Uruguay defeated Ghana 2-0. Portugal finished the group stage with six points after defeating Ghana 3-2 in its World Cup opening game and then scoring a 2-0 win over Uruguay on Monday.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored one of Portugal’s six goals in the group stage with a successful penalty against Ghana while Bruno Fernandes was the team’s most productive player on offense with two goals and three assists. In six games played since September, Portugal’s offense has produced 2.3 goals per game as the team has gone 4-0-2 over that stretch.

Switzerland Enters The Knockout Stage After Wild Win Over Serbia
Switzerland and Serbia combined for five goals in the first 48 minutes of their match on Friday in what was one of the most exciting games of this year’s group stage. Breel Embolo scored in the 44th minute to pull Switzerland into a 2-2 tie right before halftime, and Remo Freuler scored in the 48th minute right after the half to give Switzerland the 3-2 lead. That score would hold the rest of the way as Switzerland won to advance out of the group stage with a 2-0-1 record.

The team’s only loss during the group stage came Monday in a 1-0 setback to Group G winner and World Cup favorite Brazil. Switzerland has been in good form of late with a 5-1-1 record over its last seven matches that includes a 1-0 win over Portugal in the UEFA Nations League. Embolo led Switzerland in scoring during the group stage with two goals.

Portugal: Keys To Victory
Switzerland had scored only one goal across its previous three matches prior to its 3-2 win over Serbia. Portugal has the more dangerous offense in this matchup and is most likely to come away with a win as a Portugal vs Switzerland prediction if it can push the pace and force Switzerland into another wide-open game.

Switzerland: Keys To Victory
Switzerland scored in the first minute of its last match against Portugal and defended that lead the rest of the way to a 1-0 victory. Another dream start like that one is unlikely, but getting the first goal would be huge for the team’s chances as a Portugal vs Switzerland pick as it would once again allow them to slow the game down and focus on defending.

Portugal is 0-0-2 in its last 2 Round of 16 games.
Switzerland is 2-0-2 over its last 4 games.
Portugal is 6-1-3 in its last 10 games vs Switzerland.

World Cup Preview: Spain at Morocco

Spain (1-1-1) and Morocco (2-1-0) have met three times previously in the World Cup and Spain holds a 2-1-0 advantage in those three matches. Despite finishing as the runner-up in Group E, Spain is still going off as a big favorite looking for a win as a Morocco vs Spain prediction on Tuesday in Qatar.

Morocco Vs Spain Opening Odds

Spain opened as a -183 favorite in this Round of 16 matchup before settling in as a -174 favorite to win in regulation. The Morocco vs Spain odds have Morocco listed at +597 to win this match in regulation while odds on the draw at the end of regulation are set at +295. The total in this knockout round match is set at 2.25 goals.

Morocco Pulls Off An Impressive Feat In Winning Group F
Morocco entered the World Cup as an underdog to advance out of Group F. Belgium was the clear favorite to win the group at -200, followed by Croatia at +250 with Morocco (+1000) and Canada (+1200) projected to be left on the outside looking in. Group play went far different than expected with Morocco compiling an impressive 2-1-0 record to advance into the World Cup knockout round as the Group F winner.

After opening their World Cup with a 0-0 draw against Croatia, Morocco went on to beat Belgium 2-0 and Canada 2-1. Morocco is unbeaten in its last 10 matches with a 7-3-0 record, and prior to giving up that goal to Canada on an unfortunate own goal, this squad hadn’t conceded a score in its previous six matches.

Spain Has Been Trending In The Wrong Direction Since Its Hot Start
Spain produced a brilliant performance in its World Cup opener against Costa Rica, cruising to a 7-0 win with a dominant match on both sides of the pitch. That dominance did not carry over into the team’s next two games, however, as Spain settled for a 1-1 draw against Germany before suffering a stunning 2-1 loss to Japan. With that victory, Japan emerged as the shocking winner of Group E, which just about every expert projected that Spain or Germany would win.

While Spain wound up matching Germany’s 1-1-1 record in group play, it was Spain that moved on due to the goal differential tiebreaker that it locked up with its blowout win over Costa Rica. Spain’s talent and World Cup experience make this group a clear favorite on Tuesday, but recent form is suddenly a bit of a concern.

Morocco: Keys To Win
Morocco’s smothering defense has allowed only one goal over the team’s last seven matches. With Spain’s offense suddenly struggling a bit after its big outburst against Costa Rica, Morocco has the chance to pull off a big upset as a Morocco vs Spain prediction with more excellent defending and a timely counterattack.

Spain: Keys To Win
Spain recorded 82 percent possession and outshot Japan 12-6 in its stunning loss on Thursday. If Spain is able to shake off the result as bad luck and do a better job of finishing chances against Morocco, it should cash in as a Morocco vs Spain pick and move on to the quarterfinals.

Morocco is 5-2-0 in its last 7 games.
Spain is 9-3-2 over its last 14 games.
The OVER is 3-1 in Spain’s last 4 games.

POWER PLAY PROWESS
Netting 21 power play goals on 68 opportunities in their last 19 games played, thanks to two man-advantages on Dec. 3 vs ARI, the Canucks’ power play ranks second in the NHL since Oct. 24, producing at a rate of 30.9%. Vancouver is also tied sixth in the league overall this season at 26.4% and has the sixth-ranked power play on home ice at 30.0%.

MOVIN’ ON UP
With the team’s 3-2 OT victory on Dec. 3 vs ARI, Bruce Boudreau is only two wins away from tying Hal Laycoe (44) for 12th place on the Canucks all-time coaches wins list with 42 victories.

KUZ CONTROL
Notching the game-winner (11th goal) and an assist on Nov. 27 at SJS, first-year NHLer Andrei Kuzmenko recorded his fourth multipoint game in the last five games (Nov. 18-27), and his seventh so far this season, which ties for second-most on the team behind only Elias Pettersson’s nine multi-point games. Previously, on Nov. 26 at VGK, Kuzmenko (19 points) tied Igor Larionov and ranked only behind Elias Pettersson (21) for most points through a player’s first 20 career NHL games in Canucks history.

EV40
Scoring at 5-on-5 in the third period on Nov. 27 at SJS, Elias Pettersson tallied his 11th goal of the season, all of which have come at even strength. He ranks tied for third among NHL skaters for most even strength goals this season (11), trailing Jason Robertson (17).

HUGHES’ HELPING HANDS
• With two assists on Dec. 3 vs ARI, Quinn Hughes surpassed Doug Lidster for fourth most multi-assist games among defencemen in Canucks history at 35 games.

• Collecting his 20th assist of the season in 17 games on Nov. 26 at VGK, Hughes trailed only Henrik Sedin (21 assists in 2010.11) for most assists by a Canucks player through their first 17 games of a season.

• Previously, on Nov. 21 vs VGK, Hughes passed Sami Salo for sole possession of 9th place on the Canucks all-time assists list among defencemen (164) in 346 fewer games played.

• Picking up a power play assist to extend his personal assist streak to 10 games (0-13-13) on Nov. 13 at BOS, Hughes passed Jiri Bubla (1983.84) for the second-longest assist streak by a defenceman in Canucks history. He is only one of two Canuck defencemen to ever hit a double-digit streak, being one game short of tying Dennis Kearns for the franchise record (11 games in 1976.77).

-18 of Keller’s 21 points have come on the road, good for a share of the 4th-most in the NHL this season (McDavid, 21; MacKinnon, 19; Aho, 19; M. Tkachuk, 18; Eichel, 18)

-2022-23 is already Keller’s sixth season of 20+ points. Only Dale Hawerchuk (7) has had more 20+ point seasons in Coyotes/Jets franchise history before turning 25

-The winger enters tonight just below a point-per-game this season (7-14-21 in 22 GP), a mark overall he’s been well clear of since 11/18/21… Keller has registered 32-46-78 in 73 GP since then, with his 1.07 points per game in that span ranking 6th among RW (Min. 50 GP)

LAYING DOWN THE LAW
-Lawson Crouse returned to the lineup on Saturday after missing the previous game due to illness

-The forward scored his 10th goal in his 20th game of 2022-23, the fewest he’s needed to reach double digits (2022- 23: 20 GP; 2021-22: 37 GP; 2019-20: 41 GP; 2018-19: 61 GP)

-Crouse’s 10 goals in 21 games puts him on approximately a 39-goal pace for an 81-game season (the most he can play this year)

-The last time a Coyote tallied 10+ goals within the team’s first 20 games of a season was Clayton Keller in 2017-18…Nine Coyotes (11 instances) have done it since 1996-97

TONIGHTS STORYLINES & STATS
This is the first of three matchups this season between the Flames and Coyotes. The Flames swept the season-series in 2021-22, outscoring the Coyotes 17-5 in their three meetings. This is a Pacific Division versus Central Division Matchup; The Flames have an overall record of 2-1-0 against Central Division opponents this season and a record of 5-3-0 against Western Conference opponents.

LAST SEASON AGAINST THE COYOTES:
The Flames and Coyotes squared off three times during the 2021-22 campaign, with two of those matchups coming at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Flames swept the season-series in 2021-22 with the two clubs first two meetings ending in a 4-2 final in favor of Calgary. Their final meeting of the season came on April 16th at the Saddledome, where the Flames matched a season-high in goal output with a 9-1 victory over Arizona. Over their last 10 meetings, the Flames are 8-2-0 against Arizona, and have outscored the Coyotes 41-20 over that span.

LOOK BACKS AT IT:
Mikael Backlund recorded three assists on Saturday nights 5-2 win over the Capitals, becoming the first Flame to have three assists in one game this season. Backlund is now third all-time in assist by a centre in Flames franchise history, passing Tom Lysiak with his three helpers on Saturday. The Swede had one three-assist effort last season (Feb. 9, 2022 vs. VGK) and prior to that has only had two such games in his career with his first coming on Apr. 6, 2011 vs. the Edmonton Oilers and the other coming on Nov. 7, 2015 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. All four times Mikael Backlund has recorded three assists in a game have come at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

RED-HOT RUZICKA:
With his three-point effort against the Capitals on Saturday night (1-2 – 3), Adam Ruzicka is now the Flames all-time points leader by Slovakian-born players. Ruzicka drew level in points with his assist against the Canadiens on Thursday night with previous leader Ronald Petrovicky who had 21 points (9G, 12A) in 107 games with the Flames over two seasons. Ruzicka’s three-point night catapulted him to the top of the list and the Bratislava, SK native has also surpassed his previous season’s point total (5-5-10) which he set in 28 games during 2021-22. Ruzicka is currently second in NHL scoring among Slovakian-born players, only trailing New Jersey’s Tomas Tatar and Ruzicka is also the only active Slovakian-born NHLer in 2022-23 to record a three-point game, and Saturday night was his second three-point effort.

BREAD MAN:
Andrew Mangiapane had his first two-goal game of the season on Saturday against Washington in Calgary’s 5-2 win. The 26-year-old had six two-goal games in 2021-22, and through his career he has 11 multi-goal games, and the Flames have a record of 9-0-1 when Mangiapane scores more than once. Since the start of last season, the Flames are 11-2-1 on home ice when Mangiapane scores and are 3-1-0 so far this season when Mangiapane scores at the Saddledome. Through his career, Mangiapane has six points (1G, 5A) in 10 career matchups against the Coyotes.

BURNING HOT:
Dan Vladar recorded his second-straight win on Saturday night wit his 29-save effort to help the Flames knock off the Capitals 5-2. Over his last two starts, Vladar has recorded over a .930 save-percentage with just two goals against in each his last two contests. Another Flame who has been hot has been Dillon Dube, who has four points over his last two games (1G, 3A). Dube has enjoyed playing at home and has seven points in 14 games at the Saddledome this year (2G, 5A) and has three points (2G, 1A) in six career matchups against Arizona including two goals at the Saddledome in the team’s final meeting last season.

REVERSE RETRO:
Tonight will be the Flames second time wearing their 2022 Adidas Reverse Retro jersey. The jersey is a reverse of the Flames 1995 threads, this time in black instead of red or white. This is the second of four-straight home games the Flames will wear their 2022 Reverse Retro jerseys with the other two games coming against Minnesota and Vancouver. The Flames went 3-3-0 in their Reverse Retro jerseys from the 2021 series and are 1-0-0 so far in the 2022 series thanks to a 5-2 win over Washington on Saturday night.

DID YOU KNOW?
The Flames have won six-straight games against the Coyotes at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Mikael Backlund scored his first NHL goal against the Coyotes on January 28th, 2010. Brett Ritchie skated in his first NHL game and scored his first NHL goal against the Arizona Coyotes back on December 31st, 2014. McDavid, Cozens and Robertson Named NHL ‘Three Stars’ of the Week

0

NEW YORK – Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid, Buffalo Sabres center Dylan Cozens and Dallas Stars left wing Jason Robertson have been named the NHL’s “Three Stars” for the week ending Dec. 4.

FIRST STAR – CONNOR McDAVID, C, EDMONTON OILERS

McDavid paced the NHL with 5-6—11 in four games – all multi-point performances – to propel the Oilers (14-11-0, 28 points) to a 3-1-0 week. He registered 1-2—3, including the primary assist on both the tying goal with 4.4 seconds remaining in regulation and the overtime winner, in a 4-3 victory against the Florida Panthers Nov. 28. McDavid then recorded 1-1—2 in each of his next two outings, a 5-4 triumph over the Chicago Blackhawks Nov. 30 and a 5-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild Dec. 1. He capped the week with 2-2—4, his League-best fifth four-point performance of the season and 27th since entering the NHL in 2015-16, in a 5-3 win versus the Montreal Canadiens Dec. 3. The 25-year-old Edmonton captain, who is seeking his third straight Art Ross Trophy, currently tops the NHL with 47 points through 25 total contests in 2022-23 (21-26—47). He also leads the League in assists (26), power-play assists (t-14) and power-play points (23), while ranking second in both goals (21) and power-play goals (t-9).

SECOND STAR – DYLAN COZENS, C, BUFFALO SABRES

Cozens posted 4-5—9 in four appearances to guide the Sabres (11-13-1, 23 points) to a 2-1-1 week. He scored once in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning Nov. 28. Cozens then potted two goals – his second career multi-goal performance (also Nov. 12, 2021 vs. EDM: 2-0—2) – in a 5-4 shootout victory against the Detroit Red Wings Nov. 30. He finished the week with his second and third career three-point outings (also Feb. 15, 2022 vs. NYI: 0-3—3), notching 1-2—3 in a 6-4 loss to the Colorado Avalanche Dec. 1 and three assists in a 6-3 triumph over the San Jose Sharks Dec. 4. The 21-year-old Cozens, the seventh overall pick from the 2019 NHL Draft, is averaging nearly a point per game this season (9-15—24 in 25 GP) after totaling 17-34—51 through his first 120 career NHL contests.

THIRD STAR – JASON ROBERTSON, LW, DALLAS STARS

Robertson shared the League lead with five goals in three outings (5-1—6) to power the Stars (14-6-5, 33 points) to a 2-0-1 week and extend his personal point streak to 18 contests dating to Oct. 27 (21-13—34), two shy of the franchise record.
