RAMS QB BAKER MAYFIELD, EAGLES DE BRANDON GRAHAM & PANTHERS K EDDY PINEIRO NAMED NFC PLAYERS OF WEEK 14
Quarterback BAKER MAYFIELD of the Los Angeles Rams, defensive end BRANDON GRAHAM of the Philadelphia Eagles and kicker EDDY PINEIRO of the Carolina Panthers are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 14 (December 8, 11-12).
OFFENSE: QB BAKER MAYFIELD, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Mayfield passed for 230 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions for a 91.4 passer rating in the Rams’ 17-16 comeback win over Las Vegas on Thursday Night Football. After joining the team earlier in week, Mayfield led an eight-play, 98-yard drive with under two minutes remaining in regulation, ending with the game-winning touchdown pass to Van Jefferson with 10 seconds left on the clock.
This is the third Offensive Player of the Week award for Mayfield and first as a Ram:
2018: Week 16 (with Cleveland)
2020: Week 7 (with Cleveland)
2022: Week 14 (with L.A. Rams)
Mayfield is the first Ram to win a Player of the Week award this season and he joins Kyler Murray (five-time winner) as the only former Oklahoma quarterbacks to earn the honor at least three times.
DEFENSE: DE BRANDON GRAHAM, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Graham tied a career high with three sacks and added a forced fumble in the Eagles’ 48-22 win over the Giants. He is the fourth player to record three sacks and a forced fumble in a game this season.
This is Graham’s second-career Defensive Player of the Week award, also earning the honor in Week 3 of this season. He becomes the first player to win two Defensive Player of the Week awards in 2022 and Eagles players have now earned a collective eight Player of the Week awards this season, the most among all teams.
Graham joins cornerback Eric Allen (1993) and linebacker Seth Joyner (1991) as the only Eagles to earn the honor twice in one season.
SPECIAL TEAMS: K EDDY PINEIRO, CAROLINA PANTHERS
Pineiro converted all three of his field goal attempts, connecting from 47, 32 and 39 yards, and each of his three extra point attempts for a total of 12 points in Carolina’s 30-24 win over Seattle. It tied for the most points by a kicker in Week 14.
This is Pineiro’s second-career Special Teams Player of the Week award (Week 2, 2019, with Chicago). He is the sixth Carolina kicker to ever earn the honor and first since Zane Gonzalez (Week 10, 2021).
He joins Evan McPherson as the only kickers from the University of Florida to have ever earned the honor multiple times.
JAGUARS QB TREVOR LAWRENCE, PATRIOTS LB JOSH UCHE &RAVENS DE CALAIS CAMPBELL NAMED AFC PLAYERS OF WEEK 14
Quarterback TREVOR LAWRENCE of the Jacksonville Jaguars, linebacker JOSH UCHE of the New England Patriots and defensive end CALAIS CAMPBELL of the Baltimore Ravens are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 14 (December 8, 11-12).
OFFENSE: QB TREVOR LAWRENCE, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Lawrence completed 30 of 42 pass attempts (71.4 percent) for a career-high 368 yards and four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing) with no interceptions for a 121.9 passer rating in Jacksonville’s 36-22 victory over Tennessee. His 368 passing yards and 121.9 rating both led the AFC in Week 14.
Lawrence, who was 23 years and 66 days old on Sunday, became the youngest player in NFL history with at least 350 passing yards, three touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown in a game.
This is the second-career Offensive Player of the Week award for Lawrence, also earning the honor in Week 3 of this season. He joins Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes as players to win multiple Offensive Player of the Week awards in 2022 and is the first Jacksonville player ever to win two in one season.
DEFENSE: LB JOSH UCHE, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Uche recorded five tackles and three sacks in the Patriots’ 27-13 win over the Cardinals on Monday Night Football. He was the only player in the AFC with three sacks in Week 14 and is the only player in the league with multiple three-sack games this season.
Uche has 10 sacks since Week 8, the most in the NFL over that span.
This is the first Defensive Player of the Week for Uche and he joins teammate Matthew Judon (Week 5) as Patriots to win the award this season.
He is the first former Michigan linebacker to earn the honor since Devin Bush (Week 6, 2019).
SPECIAL TEAMS: DE CALAIS CAMPBELL, BALTIMORE RAVENS
With under 12 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Campbell blocked Pittsburgh’s 40-yard field goal attempt to keep the Ravens’ lead at six points. Baltimore would go on to score a field goal on the following drive and eventually hold on to a 16-14 win over the Steelers. He was the only player in the league to block a field goal attempt in Week 14.
This is the sixth-career Player of the Week award for Campbell and second on Special Teams (Week 2, 2009, with Arizona).
He is the third former Miami Hurricane to win a Special Teams Player of the Week this season, joining Detroit kicker Michael Badgley (Week 13) and Green Bay kicker Pat O’Donnell in Week 3.

PLAYOFF PUSH: Last week, the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (12-1) became the first team to secure a spot in the 2022 postseason and five other teams can join them in Week 15.
In the AFC, the KANSAS CITY CHEIFS (10-3) can secure their seventh-consecutive AFC West division title, tying the 1973-79 LOS ANGELES RAMS for the second-longest streak of division titles in NFL history. Only the 2009-19 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (11 consecutive seasons) had a longer streak.
Additionally, the BUFFALO BILLS (10-3) can clinch their fourth-consecutive postseason berth, which would tie for the second-longest streak in franchise history (1963-67). Their only longer streak was when they made six consecutive playoff appearances from 1988-93.
In the NFC, both the MINNESOTA VIKINGS (10-3) and SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (9-4) can win their respective divisions this week. The Vikings are looking for their first NFC North title since 2017, while the 49ers can win the NFC West for the first time since 2019.
The DALLAS COWBOYS (10-3) can also clinch a postseason berth this week, as they can make the playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2006-07.

DF Natalie Jacobs re-signed with the Dash through the 2024 season Jacobs made 10 starts in 15 appearances and contributed to Houston’s six clean sheets Jacobs joined the Dash as a National Team Replacement player following one season in Spain’s top division
HOUSTON – The Houston Dash and defender Natalie Jacobs have agreed to a new contract through the 2024 season, the team announced today.
“Natalie brings professionalism and experience to our backline. She can play multiple roles for us and adds versatility, along with tools to join the attack frequently as a defender,” Dash general manager Alex Singer said. “We are excited she chose to continue her career with the Dash and look forward to having her back in 2023.”
Jacobs made 10 starts in 15 appearances during the 2022 regular season after joining the club as a National Team Replacement Player in April.
Jacobs made her Dash debut on May 15 against Racing Louisville FC and earned her first start on July 8 on the road against the Orlando Pride.
The defender became a key figure in Houston’s defensive unit and played a key role in Houston’s six clean sheets last season. The Coto de Caza, California native also made an impact in the final third by tallying three assists last season.
Prior to joining the Dash, Jacobs spent time in Spain’s top division with Real Betis Féminas. Jacobs was drafted No.13 overall by the Washington Spirit in the 2020 NWSL College Draft. The 25-year-old played collegiately at the University of Southern California where she made 45 appearances and Notre Dame University where she made 42 appearances.
“I’m so excited. It’s going to be my fourth year in the league. The Dash has been from top to bottom the most amazing place I’ve been,” Jacobs said. “(The club) is so professional, supportive, competitive. It’s been great since I got here. I’m just very thankful that the Dash believe in me and that I get to be a part of this because it’s a really special place.” With the return of Jacobs, Houston now has 17 players under contract. The current Houston Dash roster can be found listed below in alphabetical order and by position:
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – Minnesota Lynx Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations Cheryl Reeve today announced the Lynx have promoted Clare Duwelius (duh-WILL-ee-us) to General Manager, effective immediately. Duwelius steps in as the fourth GM in franchise history, following former General Managers Brian Agler (1999-2002), Roger Griffith (2003-17) and Reeve (2017-22). Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
“I have long felt that Clare Duwelius was one of our top free agent signings. Since 2014, she has proven to be an invaluable resource in every aspect of the Lynx franchise,” said Reeve. “Clare epitomizes all that the Lynx stand for in her passion, drive, work ethic, commitment, loyalty, and attention to detail. I look forward to partnering with Clare in her work as General Manager for the Lynx as she continues to make her mark on our franchise.”
“I could not be more excited for the opportunity to take on this new role with the Minnesota Lynx. Throughout my time with this incredible franchise, I have seen the epitome of hard work, passion, and what it takes to compete at the highest level on and off the court,” said Duwelius. “I am thrilled to help continue that legacy and build on the success the Lynx have achieved. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Coach Reeve, Glen and Becky Taylor and the entire Lynx organization for their belief in me.”
The 2022 season marked Duwelius’ ninth season with the Lynx and fifth as Assistant General Manager, responsible for assisting Reeve in all day-to-day tasks of basketball operations, including player contracts, draft prospect scouting, domestic and international player logistics, budget management and team travel arrangements. As a member of Reeve’s staff, Duwelius has served on Lynx teams that made eight-straight postseason appearances, highlighted by three consecutive WNBA Finals trips and two WNBA Championship titles in 2015 and 2017.
Duwelius started with the Lynx in 2014 as the Basketball Operations Coordinator prior to being elevated to Basketball Operations Manager in 2016 and later Assistant General Manager in 2018. A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Duwelius graduated from Wayne State (Nebr.) College where she played basketball and earned her degree in Sports Management, and then obtained her Master’s in Business Administration degree from Southwest Minnesota State University.

CALGARY FLAMES NOTES:
FLAMES LAST GAME RECAP DECEMBER 12, 2022 – Montreal Canadiens [2] vs. CALGARY FLAMES 1 The Calgary Flames finished off their three-game road trip with their final stop coming at the Bell Centre to take on the Montreal Canadiens. The goaltenders were the stars of the show early with Jacob Markstrom stopping all 13 first period shots he faced, while Jake Allen was also perfect on 11 pucks fired his way and the contest remained scoreless through 20. Jonathan Huberdeau would score the games opening goal in his hometown on the power play to give the Flames a 1- 0 lead, Tyler Toffoli picked up an assist on the goal for his first point in the Bell Centre since February 10th while he was a member of the Canadiens. There would be no additional scoring until the final frame where Josh Anderson tied the game just 1:40 into the period but neither side could find a winner and for the second-straight game, the Flames were headed to overtime.
