New York Sirens sign Defender Alexie Guay to reserve list

The New York Sirens have proudly added defender Alexie Guay to the team’s Reserve Player List for the remainder of the 2024-25 Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) season. Guay, a talented 24-year-old, joins the Sirens following an impressive campaign with MoDo Hockey in Sweden’s SDHL.

“Très heureux d’accueillir Alexie! Happy to welcome Alexie to the New York Sirens family,” shared Sirens General Manager Pascal Daoust. “Last year, Alexie emerged from Clarkson University as one of the promising talents eligible for the draft. Instead, she chose to further her growth and hone her skills during her first professional season in Sweden, where she took on significant responsibilities and delivered an excellent performance. Now, we have the privilege of working with her, evaluating her progress, and supporting the next phase of her development as a member of the Sirens.”

Guay, a native of Magog, Quebec, showcased her abilities during her time in the SDHL, appearing in 35 games and recording four goals along with eight assists. Her collegiate career was equally distinguished, beginning with four seasons at Boston College, where she played alongside Sirens goaltender Abbey Levy for three of those years. As an Eagle, Guay amassed 20 goals and 46 assists in 124 games and earned a spot on the 2020 Hockey East All-Rookie Team. She then continued her journey at Clarkson University, contributing 23 points in 40 games on the Golden Knights’ blue line.

Guay’s international pedigree further cements her reputation as a rising star. She represented Canada at the U18 Women’s World Championships, earning back-to-back all-star honors and winning a gold medal in 2019. Her stellar performance in that tournament saw her named Best Defender, a testament to her potential at the highest level.

The Sirens are thrilled to welcome Alexie Guay to their organization, confident she will make meaningful contributions to their roster and development efforts. Fans are eager to see her skills and determination shine as part of the Sirens.
