NEW YORK, – New York City FC has traded forward Gabriel Segal to Houston Dynamo FC in exchange for their natural 2025 3rd round SuperDraft pick and will retain a sell-on percentage from future transfers. The Bethesda native signed with the ‘Boys in Blue’ in January 2023 after leaving German club FC Köln. During the 2023 MLS regular season, Segal appeared in 10 games and netted two goals, both of which were important stoppage time equalizers.

“We would like to thank Gabe for all his contributions to the club. He was a hardworking and popular member of the squad who contributed with some important goals in 2023,” said Sporting Director David Lee. “This move will provide Gabe with more opportunity for minutes as he is beginning his professional career, and we wish him all the best in Houston.”

Segal was loaned to Israeli Premier League team Hapoel Tel Aviv FC in September 2023, with the loan initially set to end in June 2024. However, the forward returned to New York in November 2023, after the Israeli league was suspended due to the conflict in the region.

“While it’s been great to be back with the squad for the past few months, I am excited for this new chapter of my career and the chance to play in Houston,” Segal said. “I want to thank everybody at New York City for giving me the opportunity to grow as a player and to the amazing fans for their continuous support. My time at the club will always be something I’m grateful for. I wish all my teammates the best this season.”
