New York City FC Sign Midfielder Jacob Arroyave to Short-Term Agreement from New York City FC II

NEW YORK — New York City FC today announced that the Club has signed Midfielder Jacob Arroyave to a Short-Term Agreement, joining on loan from MLS NEXT Pro affiliate New York City FC  II.  

Per MLS rules, a club may sign a player, age 25 or younger during the league season, from its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate to a maximum of four Short-Term Agreements each season. An individual player may be included on up to four MLS league season match rosters each season, however, that player may appear in no more than two MLS league season matches. An individual player may appear in any number of non-league games during the terms of his four Short-Term Agreements. 

Arroyave has made three appearances in MLS NEXT Pro since signing in 2023. The midfielder most recently started in the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup first round match against FC Motown providing an assist in the win. Arroyave took part in preseason with the First Team ahead of the 2024 Major League Soccer season.  

Arroyave will join the team ahead of its away match against FC Cincinnati.
