RENO, Nev. – Nevada Head Coach Steve Alford has announced the signing of 6-foot-4 combo guard Amire Robinson (Akron, Ohio / John R. Buchtel Community Learning Center).

“We are blessed to add Amire to our roster,” said Alford. “Amire is always focused on team over self. He is a great leader who can play multiple positions in the backcourt and is a proven winner. His father Stew and I shared the same backcourt for three seasons at Indiana, and I could not be more excited to be teaming up with another Robinson.”

The Akron, Ohio product played his freshman year of high school in Chicago and his sophomore season for Copley High School in Akron before transferring to Buchtel ahead of his junior season.

Robinson helped lead Buchtel to an overall record of 20-6 last season, including a perfect mark of 9-0 in conference play. Robinson also helped Buchtel advance to the fourth round of the OHSAA playoffs; the team finished the season ranked as 36th best high school team in the state of Ohio.

Robinson has played for the 2023 Indiana Elite program on the AAU circuit, helping lead them to an undefeated season and an Adidas 3SSB Championship at the 16U level.
