Bryce Mitchell vs. Kron Gracie at UFC 310 is projected to be a lopsided fight, with Mitchell as the heavy favorite, boasting the shortest odds on the main card. However, this bout might be more challenging for Mitchell than the odds suggest, as Kron Gracie is set on making a significant comeback.

Bryce Mitchell holds a 16-2 record, with nine wins by submission and seven by decision. He has no wins by knockout or technical knockout, highlighting his limited boxing skills. Mitchell’s strength lies in his exceptional grappling abilities, particularly his knack for executing submissions on the ground.

One point of concern is his last trip to Vegas, where Josh Emmett delivered a devastating knockout in Round 1, a type of defeat fighters rarely fully recover from. Nevertheless, it’s unlikely Mitchell plans to stand and box with Kron Gracie; a grappling duel seems more likely.

Mitchell is one of the UFC’s top grapplers, but he’s up against a member of the legendary Gracie family. Kron’s ancestors—brothers Helio, Gastao Jr., Carlos, and Oswaldo Gracie—were the pioneers of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The main reason Kron Gracie’s odds are at +450 is his lack of wins since 2019. He holds a 5-2 record in professional MMA, entering this fight on a two-loss streak. His most recent defeat was against Charles Jourdain in 2023. Before that, he hadn’t fought in almost four years after losing to Cub Swanson.

On the upside, both of Gracie’s losses were by decision. He endured significant punishment but managed to last until the final bell. While his boxing skills appeared lacking in those fights, he may have improved his striking.

In preparation for UFC 310, Gracie has been training under the guidance of the legendary Nate Diaz, renowned for his boxing prowess. This could be a crucial factor in his upcoming bout against Mitchell.
