Minnesota Wild Recalls Forward Liam Ohgren from Iowa

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin announced today that forward Liam Ohgren has been recalled under emergency conditions from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Ohgren, 21, has contributed four points (1 goal, 3 assists), two penalty minutes (PIM), and 28 shots over 23 NHL games with Minnesota this season. In the AHL, he has tallied 28 points (14 goals, 14 assists), five power-play goals (PPG), 85 shots, and six PIM across 29 games with Iowa. The 6-foot-1, 187-pound Stockholm native ranks tied for second on Iowa in PPG, fourth in goals, sixth in points, and tied for sixth in assists. His performances earned him a spot on the 2025 AHL All-Star roster.

Over parts of two NHL seasons (2023–25), Ohgren has appeared in 27 career games, recording two points (1 goal, 1 assist) and eight shots in four games during the 2023-24 campaign. Notably, he scored his first NHL goal, which was also a game-winning goal (GWG), against San Jose on April 13, 2024. Ohgren also appeared in three games for Iowa in 2023-24, registering 10 shots.

Before his North American career, Ohgren played for Farjestad BK in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) during the 2023-24 season, where he collected 19 points (12 goals, 7 assists) in 26 games. He ranked tied for sixth in team goals and 10th in points.

Selected by the Wild in the first round (19th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, Ohgren wears sweater No. 28 with Minnesota.
