MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have optioned right-handed pitcher Caleb Boushley to Triple-A St. Paul.

Boushley pitched 2.0 scoreless innings of relief last night against the Atlanta Braves at Target Field, allowing three hits and one walk. Boushley clears a 26-man roster spot for Michael Tonkin, who was claimed off waivers from the New York Yankees yesterday.

Tonkin, 34, appeared in 39 games for the Yankees this season, going 3-2 with a 3.38 ERA (56.0 IP, 21 ER), 21 walks, 57 strikeouts and a .214 opponent batting average. He was claimed off waivers by the Twins from the New York Mets earlier this season and made one appearance for Minnesota on April 12 at Detroit, allowing two runs on two hits in 2.0 innings, with two walks and five strikeouts. Overall this season, he has gone 4-4 with a 3.74 ERA (65.0 IP, 27 ER), two saves, 25 walks, 68 strikeouts and a .223 opponent batting average in 45 games for the Mets, Twins and Yankees.
