MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has signed forwards Camryn Taylor, Mimi Collins and guard Quinesha (quin-EE-shuh) Lockett to training camp contracts. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not released.
Taylor, 6-2, appeared in 28 games (26 starts) for the University of Virginia Cavaliers last season, averaging 14.8 points on 46.5% shooting, including 83.5% from the free throw line, and a team-high 6.1 rebounds in 24.9 minutes of action in her graduate campaign. The Peoria, Ill. native’s 14.8 points were second-best for the Cavaliers and 13th in the ACC, leading to her selection in the inaugural Women’s College All-Star Game at the end of the 2023-24 season. Prior to her three years at Virginia, Taylor played two seasons at Marquette University and finished her collegiate career with 1,583 points and 725 rebounds.
Collins, 6-3, saw action in 69 games (45 starts) at North Carolina State University, posting averages of 8.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in 25.5 minutes per contest. Her best performance of the 2023-24 season came on Dec. 31 when she tallied 28 points on 60.0% shooting and five rebounds in 28 minutes of action. She ended her career at NC State with 611 points and 357 rebounds and helped this year’s No. 12 Pack to its first Final Four appearance since 1998. Prior to her time in North Carolina, the Slidell, La. native played two seasons at Maryland and one at the University of Tennessee and concluded her collegiate career with 1,344 points, 798 rebounds and 129 assists.
Lockett, 5-10 from the University of Toledo, averaged 15.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 29.9 minutes per game in her senior campaign. She helped lead the Rockets to a 28-6 record and ended the 2023-24 season first in field goals made (159) and second in multiple categories, including points (431), free throws made (86), rebounds (170), assists (95) and steals (36). Throughout her five-year career at Toledo, the Omaha, Neb. native was named the 2022-23 MAC Player of the Year and was a four-time All-MAC honoree. Her 2,423 career points ranks second on the university’s all-time scoring list. Lockett was also selected to participate in the 2024 Women’s All-Star Game alongside Taylor.
