Michigan’s commercial and tribal internet gaming operators reported $301.43 million in gross receipts from iGaming and internet sports betting in May, marking a 3.7% increase over April’s total.
Monthly Gross Receipts
- iGaming revenue reached $251.47 million, up from $248.1 million in April.
- Sports betting gross receipts totaled $49.96 million, an increase from $42.6 million in the previous month.
Monthly Adjusted Gross Receipts (AGR)
- Combined AGR for iGaming and internet sports betting amounted to $271.8 million in May.
- iGaming AGR: $236.2 million (+1.3% from April).
- Sports betting AGR: $35.6 million (+32.9% from April).
- Year-over-year, iGaming AGR surged 32.2%, while sports betting AGR rose 26.6% compared to May 2024.
Monthly Handle
- Internet sports betting handle totaled $386.1 million, reflecting a 7.6% decline from $417.6 million in April.
State Taxes and Payments
Michigan operators remitted $51.1 million in state taxes and payments in May, including:
- iGaming taxes and fees: $49.1 million
- Sports betting taxes and fees: $2.0 million
City of Detroit Taxes and Payments
Detroit’s three commercial casinos paid $13.35 million in wagering taxes and municipal service fees:
- iGaming taxes and fees: $12.7 million
- Sports betting taxes and fees: $651,441
Tribal Operator Payments
Michigan’s tribal operators reported $5.8 million in payments to their respective governing bodies in May.
