The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued formal cease-and-desist orders to six unlicensed online gambling platforms that were illegally targeting Michigan residents. This decisive action reinforces the MGCB’s commitment to protecting consumers from unregulated gambling, financial fraud, and identity theft.

Illegal Gambling Sites Named

The following platforms were found operating in violation of Michigan’s gaming laws:

  • Crypto Slots
  • Nitrobetting
  • NewVegas
  • Las Vegas USA Casino
  • Grand Rush Casino
  • Slotgard Casino

These sites offered casino-style games and sports betting features without proper licensure, violating the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Lawful Sports Betting Act, and sections of the Michigan Penal Code.

MGCB Statement

“These sites were attempting to exploit Michigan players while operating outside the law,” said Henry Williams, Executive Director of the MGCB.
“We take this seriously. When unauthorized operators offer games without regulation, Michigan players are left exposed—and we will not tolerate it.”

Enforcement Details

Each of the six platforms received a formal cease-and-desist letter, demanding an immediate halt to operations involving Michigan users. If they fail to comply within 14 days, further legal action may be pursued in coordination with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

Risks of Unlicensed Gambling

Michigan residents using these illegal sites face serious risks, including:

  • No guarantee of winnings or payouts
  • Potentially rigged or unfair games
  • No legal protection against fraud or data breaches
  • No oversight or accountability

“Unlike Michigan’s licensed operators, these sites offer no consumer safeguards,” Williams added.
“They’re not held accountable to anyone, and that puts players in a dangerous position.”

Ongoing Crackdown on Illegal Online Gambling

This enforcement action is part of the MGCB’s broader strategy to eliminate illegal online gambling in Michigan. The agency has issued multiple cease-and-desist orders in recent months and continues to investigate suspicious platforms and digital advertisements.

How Michigan Players Can Stay Safe
