The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued cease-and-desist orders to 11 illegal online gambling operators targeting Michigan residents without proper licensing. These unlicensed platforms—operating from offshore or undisclosed locations—pose significant risks to consumers by bypassing Michigan’s stringent regulated gaming laws.
Named Illegal Operators
The 11 online casinos identified in the enforcement action include:
- Club Player Casino
- 7 Bets Casino
- NinBet Casino
- Cherry Jackpot Casino
- PitBet
- SlotsNBets
- Bookmaker.eu
- Wild Vegas Casino
- VIP Slots Casino
- Prism Casino
- ABC Islands Casino and Sportsbook
“These platforms are operating illegally and without proper oversight, putting Michigan players at risk,” said Henry Williams, Executive Director of the MGCB. “We’re committed to shutting down unauthorized gambling operations to protect the public from unfair practices and financial harm.”
Risks Posed by Unlicensed Platforms
The unregulated operators have been accepting wagers from Michigan residents through payment methods such as credit cards, digital wallets, and cryptocurrencies. This opens consumers to predatory practices, including:
- Withholding winnings
- Unrealistic wagering requirements
- Denial of withdrawals
Additionally, these platforms do not adhere to Michigan’s rigorous data protection standards, leaving players’ personal and financial information vulnerable to data breaches, identity theft, and other cybercrimes.
Cease-and-Desist Orders and Enforcement
The MGCB has formally instructed all 11 operators to halt their gambling services within the state immediately. They have been given 14 days to comply, with continued violations subject to additional enforcement actions, including collaboration with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office for legal proceedings.
“This serves as a clear warning: Michigan does not tolerate unauthorized gambling activity,” Williams emphasized. “We will continue our efforts to identify and disrupt these illegal operations.”
Tips for Residents
The MGCB urges Michigan residents to use only licensed and approved online gaming platforms to ensure a safe gaming experience. The official list of licensed operators can be found at Michigan.gov/MGCB.
Suspected illegal gambling activity or suspicious websites should be reported by calling 1-888-314-2682 or emailing MIGamblingTip@michigan.gov.
MGCB’s Ongoing Commitment
The Michigan Gaming Control Board remains steadfast in its mission to preserve the integrity of the state’s gaming industry.
“Our priority is ensuring every resident can enjoy a fair, secure gambling environment,” Williams said. “By eliminating illegal operators, we’re protecting the public from fraud and abuse while strengthening trust in Michigan’s regulated market.”
