MGCB Approves Rush Street Interactive for Multi-State Poker in Michigan

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has officially granted Rush Street Interactive approval to offer multi-state internet poker, allowing players in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia to compete across state lines starting June 10, 2025.

Regulatory Approval Process

Rush Street Interactive submitted its multi-state poker request on March 31, 2025, under the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA). After a comprehensive review, the MGCB determined that Rush Street Interactive met all necessary regulatory requirements to facilitate multi-state poker gameplay.

MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams emphasized the benefits of expanded poker participation:

“Multi-state internet poker offers players a larger pool of participants and more opportunities for competitive play. We’re pleased to authorize Rush Street Interactive to join the multi-state poker community, ensuring a safe, secure, and fair gaming environment for players in Michigan and our partner states.”

Existing Multi-State Poker Operators in Michigan

With Rush Street Interactive’s addition, Michigan now has four licensed operators offering multi-state online poker:

  • MGM Grand Detroit Casino with BetMGM (approved November 2024)
  • Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians with World Series of Poker (approved May 2024)
  • Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians with PokerStars (approved January 2023)
  • Rush Street Interactive (effective June 2025)

Michigan’s Role in Multi-State Poker

Michigan became a member of MSIGA in 2022, joining Delaware, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Before joining the agreement, Michigan’s poker players could compete only against others within the state, limiting player pools and tournament dynamics.
