Sergio Santos scores fifth goal of MLS Season as Union pick up point on the road

CHESTER, Pa.  –  The Philadelphia Union battled the New York Red Bulls to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena. With the point earned on the road the Union remain in fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Early in the first half Sergio Santos opened up the scoring, getting a foot on a cross that managed to bounce through the crowd of players in the box. The 17th minute goal was the Brazilian’s 20th career league goal for the Union. The hosts leveled the score line in the 37th minute off a goal from Omir Fernandez. Andre Blake recorded three saves to preserve the point.

The Union are back home to take on Columbus Crew SC at Subaru Park on Sunday, October 3rd (4:00 p.m. ET / PHL17).
