The Los Angeles Dodgers announced today that they have recalled right-hander Alexis Díaz and placed left-hander Tanner Scott on the injured list due to left elbow inflammation.

Alexis Díaz Returns to Big League Roster

Díaz, 28, rejoins the Dodgers for his second stint this season after being acquired from the Cincinnati Reds on May 29 in exchange for prospect Mike Villani. The former 2023 National League All-Star, Díaz owns a career 3.21 ERA with 75 saves in 86 opportunities over 196 MLB games.

In his recent minor league action with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Díaz logged 6.2 innings across eight appearances, posting a 6.75 ERA with six strikeouts. Earlier this season, he made six appearances for Cincinnati, going 0–0 with a 12.00 ERA. A native of Puerto Rico, Díaz was selected by the Reds in the 12th round of the 2015 MLB Draft out of Juan Jose Maunez High School.

Tanner Scott Hits IL

Lefty reliever Tanner Scott, 31, exited last night’s game during the ninth inning and now lands on the injured list. Scott has been a bullpen staple for L.A. this season, compiling 47 appearances, a 4.14 ERA, and 19 saves in 26 chances.

A seasoned veteran, Scott brings a nine-year major league résumé with stops in Baltimore, Miami, San Diego, and now Los Angeles. He carries a career record of 32–26 with a 3.63 ERA, 74 saves, and 536 strikeouts across 414.1 innings pitched. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the sixth round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Howard College (Texas).
