LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Dodgers have reinstated right-hander Kirby Yates from the 15-day injured list and placed left-hander Blake Snell on the paternity list, the club announced Thursday.

Yates, 38, had been sidelined since July 29 with lower back soreness. He logged a one-inning rehab outing at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, retiring one batter and fanning another, before rejoining Los Angeles. This season the veteran reliever is 4-3 with a 4.31 ERA across 39 outings. Over parts of 12 big-league seasons—with stops in Tampa Bay, New York (Yankees), Los Angeles (Angels), San Diego, Atlanta, Texas and the Dodgers—Yates has compiled a 30-24 mark, 98 saves and 615 strikeouts in 442⅔ innings. Originally signed by the Rays as an undrafted free agent in June 2009, the Hawaii native made his major-league debut in 2014.

Snell, 32, will miss an upcoming series while on the paternity list. In his most recent start Wednesday, he worked seven innings against Texas, allowing two runs on six hits in a no-decision. Snell owns a 3-2 record and a 1.97 ERA through six starts this year. Across ten MLB seasons with Tampa Bay, San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles, he is 79-60 with a 3.16 ERA and 1,398 strikeouts. The former first-round pick of the Rays in 2011 debuted as a 22-year-old out of Shorewood High School (Wash.).
