LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled right-handed pitcher Will Klein and placed right-hander Michael Kopech on the injured list with right knee inflammation, retroactive to June 28.
Klein, 25, rejoins the Dodgers just days after being optioned. He has appeared in two games this season for Los Angeles, delivering 3.2 scoreless innings. Acquired from the Seattle Mariners on June 2 in exchange for left-hander Joe Jacques, Klein debuted in the majors in 2024, allowing nine earned runs over 7.1 innings between Kansas City and Oakland. Over five minor league seasons, he has compiled a 13-11 record with a 5.42 ERA in 181 appearances. Klein was selected by the Royals in the fifth round of the 2020 MLB Draft out of Eastern Illinois University.
Kopech, 29, is headed to the IL for the second time this season. In eight relief outings in 2025, he has posted seven scoreless innings. Acquired from the Chicago White Sox at last year’s trade deadline, Kopech has thrived in Los Angeles, going 4-0 with a 0.87 ERA over 32 appearances. Now in his sixth MLB season, he owns a career mark of 21-33 with a 4.11 ERA across 178 games (407 IP), along with 453 strikeouts and a .216 opponent batting average. He was originally a first-round draft pick of the Boston Red Sox in 2014 out of Mount Pleasant High School (TX)
