LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Paul Gervase and optioned left-handed pitcher Charlie Barnes.
Gervase, 26, rejoins the squad for the third time this season, and he is 0-0 with a 1.80 ERA in five innings. He has appeared in eight Major Legue games in his career, posting a 3.38 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 13.1 innings. With Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2026, he is 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 25.0 innings. The 6-foot, 10-inch hurler was drafted by the New York Mets in the 12th round of the 2022 First Year Player Draft out of Louisiana State University.
Barnes, 30, suffered the loss last night, tossing seven innings, allowing seven runs on 12 hits. He is 0-1 with a 7.00 ERA in three games for the Dodgers this campaign. He has been in the Majors parts of two seasons with the Minnesota Twins (2021), Chicago Cubs (2026) and Dodgers (2026), recording an 0-4 mark with a 6.38 ERA in 50.0 innings. In six minor league seasons, he owns a 29-25 record with a 3.85 ERA and 397 strikeouts in 451.1 innings. He was a fourth-round draft pick by the Minnesota Twins in the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Clemson.
