Los Angeles Dodgers recall Justin Wrobleski

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled left-handed pitcher Justin Wrobleski and optioned right-handed pitcher Ben Casparius.

Wrobleski, 24, returns to the Dodgers for his fifth stint with the club and he is 1-2 with a 6.40 ERA in seven games (six starts) this season. With Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, he has posted a 1-2 record with a 5.46 ERA in seven games. He began the season with Double-A Tulsa, starting 13 games and producing a 5-2 record with a 3.06 ERA (23 ER/67.2 IP) and 62 strikeouts against just 13 walks. The Hoffman Estates, Illinois native was originally drafted in the 11th round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft by the Dodgers out of Oklahoma State University.

Casparius, 25, recorded the win last night, tossing 4.1 innings in relief with seven strikeouts. He is 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 8.1 innings on the season. He holds a 4-3 record in 16 games (14 starts) and a 3.36 ERA (25 ER/67.0 IP) with 72 strikeouts with Triple-A Oklahoma City. He was promoted from Double-A Tulsa on May 7 after going 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA in five games. He has spent four minor league seasons in the Dodgers’ organization, going 14-17 in 79 games (57 starts) with 346 strikeouts against 150 walks. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the fifth round of the 2021 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Connecticut.
