Los Angeles Dodgers claim Infielder Buddy Kennedy; Max Muncy placed on IL

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have claimed infielder Buddy Kennedy off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays and placed Max Muncy on the injured list with an oblique strain. To clear space on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers have designated right-handed pitcher Julian Fernández for assignment.

Kennedy, 26, was designated for assignment by Toronto on August 12 after going 1-for-5 at the plate. He has appeared in parts of four MLB seasons with:

  • Philadelphia Phillies (2024–25)
  • Toronto Blue Jays (2025)

He hit his 200th career home run on May 31 vs. the Yankees, and currently ranks seventh all-time in Dodgers franchise history with 207 home runs.
