The Los Angeles Dodgers announced today that right-handed pitcher Luis Garcia has been activated from the 15-day Injured List, while right-hander Will Klein has been optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Garcia, 38, rejoins the roster after missing time since June 1 due to a right adductor strain. In 26 appearances this season, he’s posted a 4.50 ERA with 23 strikeouts across 26 innings. The veteran reliever is in his 13th MLB season, having previously pitched for the Phillies (2013–18), Angels (2019, 2024), Rangers (2020), Cardinals (2021), Padres (2022–23), Red Sox (2024), and now the Dodgers. Over 571 career games, Garcia owns a 28–28 record and 4.16 ERA. He signed a one-year deal with Los Angeles on January 22.
Klein, 25, delivered two scoreless innings with three strikeouts last night. In his second stint with the Dodgers this season, he appeared in two games, logging 3.2 shutout innings. Acquired from the Mariners on June 2 in exchange for LHP Joe Jacques, Klein debuted in 2024, allowing nine runs in 7.1 innings with the Royals and Athletics. Over five minor league seasons, he holds a 13–11 record and 5.33 ERA in 181 games. He was a fifth-round pick by Kansas City in the 2020 MLB Draft out of Eastern Illinois University.
