Los Angeles Dodgers Activate Edwin Díaz

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated right-handed pitcher Edwin Díaz from the injured list and optioned right-handed pitcher Landon Knack.

Díaz, 32, returns from his second IL stint this season and he is 2-2 with a 11.85 ERA in 16 games with the Dodgers. He made five rehab appearances, tossing 4.1 innings, allowing six runs and recording four strikeouts, including a scoreless outing in his last game on September 16 against El Paso. The 10-year veteran is 30-38 in his career with a 3.06 ERA in 536 games. The three-time All-Star has 260 saves in 306 opportunities with 858 strikeouts. He was drafted in the third round of the 2012 First Year Player Draft out of Caguas Military Academy (PR).

Knack, 29, recorded the win yesterday, tossing four innings of scoreless baseball against the Reds. He has been with the Dodgers three seasons, going 7-7 with a 4.10 ERA in 29 games (19 starts). He was drafted by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2020 First Year Player Draft out of East Tennessee State University.
