ANAHEIM – The Angels today agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with RHP Kyle Hendricks. In a corresponding 40-man roster move, RHP Ryan Miller has been designated for assignment.

Hendricks, 34, completed his 11th Major League season with Chicago (N.L.) in 2024, where he appeared in 29 games (24 starts) and posted a 4-12 record with a 5.92 ERA (130.2 IP – 86 ER) and 87 strikeouts. From June 2 through the end of the season, he pitched to a 4.29 ERA (94.1 IP – 45 ER) across 20 appearances (17 starts), and finished the season by posting a 2.89 ERA (28.0 IP – 9 ER) across his final five starts in September. Hendricks ranks first in Cubs franchise history (min. 1500 IP) with a 3.46 strikeout-to-walk rate, is seventh with 1,259 strikeouts, and is ninth with 270 games started.

A native of Newport Beach, California, Hendricks was originally selected by the Angels in the 39th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, but elected to attend Dartmouth College. He was later drafted in the eighth round of the 2011 Draft by Texas. He made his Major League debut with the Cubs on July 10, 2014, and has totaled 276 career MLB games (270 starts) across 11 seasons with Chicago (N.L.). Hendricks led MLB with a 2.13 ERA in 2016, and finished third in N.L. Cy Young voting as a member of the Cubs 2016 World Series Championship team.
